"Oh yes. Her necklace. I remember it clearly." Miss Grace said finally bringing her hands together in a clasp. "Yes, I still have it. It's in a drawer upstairs in the storage room."Imogene breathes a sigh of relief at her response.Miss Grace turned to face her with a tilted smile. "You kept pulling at it and it was the most beautiful necklace I've ever seen. I didn't want it to be ruined. I was meant to give it back to you when you got older, but I forgot. I'm sorry that I had it so long."Imogene smiled her gratitude. "That's okay Miss Grace. Thank you for taking care of it for me.""Sure, no problem." Grace replied. "You can wait in the hall while I get it okay?""Sure." Imogene nodded and Grace left the room. She then stood up from her chair and Aaron did the same. Thank you so much for all your help, Mother Harrington."Mother Harrington gave her a bright smile. "You're welcome dear. I wish I could have been of

Chapter: Chapter 4
Aaron restarted the car and drove towards the gate. There was a button hooked up on the left pillar that the gate was on. He pressed it and the gate opened automatically. They drove in and the gate closed behind us.Aaron parked the car and cut the engine. He pulled his car door and got out. Imogene did the same.As soon as they were both out of the car, they walked to the front door. Aaron rang the doorbell. They waited a few seconds and then the door was opened by a woman. She looked to be in her late thirties and she greeted them with a polite smile. She must be a new worker at the home because Imogene did not know her. It wasn't uncommon. When she was living here, there were a lot of volunteer who helped out."Hello. How may I help you?" She asked looking from Aaron to Imogene.Imogene was the one who spoke. "Hi, I'm Imogene Baker. I used to live here. I would like to speak to Mother Harrington, please.""Sure. You can come i

Chapter: Chapter 3
Still shocked by what just happened, Imogene sat immobilized on the floor with her back on the wall.Something like that has never happened to her before. How can the bookshelf fall through her like that? It just wasn't possible. She didn't know what to make of it. It was really confusing. After sitting on the floor for a while mulling her brain over, trying to understand what happened, she decided it was time to get up.She walked over to the bookshelf to take it up, but hesitated a little. After what just happened, she was afraid to even touch the bookshelf.Taking a deep sigh, she stooped down and tentatively reached her hand out to the bookshelf. Relief washed through her as her fingertips came in contact with its rough wooden mahogany surface. She then gripped the edge of the bookshelf and pulled it up to stand again.Maybe, she had just imag

Chapter: Chapter 2
Aaron and Imogene sat in the lunch room that was situated in the back room of the coffee shop. Every day they would have lunch together.Imogene had brought a salami and cream cheese sandwich. She unwrapped it from its foil and took a bite. She then looked up to see Aaron watching her. "You seem down. Are you sure you're alright?" He asked when she had looked at him. "You can talk to me about anything. You know that right?"She sigh and nodded her head. "Yeah. I was just thinking about my parents again." She confessed. "I just wish I could get some answers Aaron. Does that sound stupid?"Aaron was the only person that she told about her past. He was so understanding and he never judged her. When she had told him, he sat and listened the entire story. When she was finished, he had gotten up from where he was sitting and hugged her saying that he was sorry that she had to go through all that.Aaron put down

Chapter: Chapter 1
The wind picked up pace and the hot summer sun beat down on the ground as Imogene Baker walked to work. She hung her head low to block out its intense glare and prayed that she'll reach to work soon.Every day it was like this. Walking the few block from her apartment to work. She really didn't mind the walk at all, because most days it gave her time to think. But on hot days where it seems like the sun was angry at her, she wished she had a car.At last, she reached the coffee shop where she works. She was half an hour early as she was every morning. Richard, the shop owner was not here most of the time, so he gave all his employees keys, so they could open up when he wasn't here or would be coming in late. The door was already open now and she figured Aaron was already here. He was the first one here most days. Thankful for some reprieve from the sun, she pulled open the door with a sigh. The small bell over the door sounded announcing her entrance.

"Mom! Can you give me a ride to netball practise today?!" Tamara shouted from the top of the stairs on Saturday morning. I was sitting on the couch in the living room, watching television."I can't today, honey." Mom answered from her room. "I'm leaving to go out now. Ask your sister." Tamara skipped down the stairs and came over to me."Can you?" She asked hopefully."Sure. I'm going shopping for my dance outfit today anyways, so I will drop you off on the way." I answered."Oh good." she sighed and plopped down on the couch beside me. She took up the remote and change the channel."Hey! I was watching that." I protested, reaching for the remote.Tamara rolled her eyes and handed back the remote. "Fine." She turned to look at me. "How is practise by the way?" She asked."It's great. Progress is making." Chapter: Chapter 11
"I'm sorry I soaked your shirt." I said sheepishly pulling back from Ethan and indicating his now wet shirt from my tears. I wiped the remaining tears from my eyes and glanced at the time. I had eight minutes before lunch was up. I had been crying in Ethan's arms for two minutes."It's no problem." He chuckled. "Are you okay?" He asked after a while.I nodded. "Yeah. I guess I am." We left the bathroom and stood in the hallway. I then looked at him quizzically. "Why did you come after me by the way?"He shrugged. "I heard what that girl said to you. I saw you left the cafeteria and I just decided to find you. By the way, your friends were coming after you and I sent them away.""You what? Why did you do that?" I asked shocked."I told them I would handle it. It's no big deal. Besides, I told them to go back and deal with the girl." He explained, as if that still made perfect sense.

Chapter: Chapter 9
The following Wednesday, I woke up at 6:30am. I quickly took a shower, got dressed and went downstairs. My mom was in the dinning room sitting at the table when I got down. Tamara had left already because she had a science trip that was today."Hey Mom." I said as I passed her and went into the kitchen for breakfast."Hey sweetie." She answered. She took a sip of her coffee that was on the table as she read the newspaper in her hand. I came and sat in front of her with my breakfast when I was done. "How is dance practice coming on?""It's going great. I practiced everyday last week." I said taking a bite out of my waffles. My practice was coming on fine. I have gotten a head start on my routines and I was more confident. There was nothing that Ramona can say to get me down."That's good." Mom smiled and looked at me. Her face turned into a frown. "What's wrong?"I didn't realize th

Chapter: I Would Have More Luck Finding Nemo Than Mr. Right
Kayla's POVThe weekend had passed and now today was Monday. It was the end of the day and Jasmine and I were walking to her house. I had promised Carson at school that I was going to come to his house at 6 o'clock so he could continue with his tutoring.Right now, Jasmine had invited me to her house to help her pick out an outfit for Saturday night. She and her family had a dinner party at her aunt's house. Lucas and Kevin said that they didn't want a part in that. They said that they would be bored to death watching Jasmine try on different clothes over and over again. They also didn't want to suffer through the agony of listening to us talking about clothes.I had known that they wouldn't want to come. Jasmine and I had only been teasing them by asking them to tag along. I smiled to myself as I remembered the expression on their faces. Jasmine lives ten minutes from school, so we were there quickly.

Chapter: Running Into Old Rivalries
Carson's POV"Way to go, man!" Jayden said, patting me on the shoulders. "Once again, you've won!""Yeah man. Congrats!" Michael said giving me a fist bump.We were at the place were I had my fighting matches. Fifteen minutes before, I had fought one of the toughest guys in these matches and had came out victorious. This was the second time, I had fought him and won. He called himself Mark The Steel.I remembered the first time I had fought him, my fans were worried that he would be a challenge, because he was bigger than I am. He was twenty years old and packed a hard and powerful punch. Even though I won, he did get a few hits and punches in.I had just come from the room, where I had been changing back into my regular clothes, when my friends congratulated me. I was also rushed by girls, who began to flirt with me. This always happens anytime I'm here."Your m

Chapter: Tutor Session
The next day, I was at my locker, getting my books for first period, when Carson walked up to me and leaned on the locker beside mine. "What is it now, Carson?" I asked.Carson grinned. "I hope you haven't made any plans tonight, because we have a date." He said, winking at me."Please don't flatter yourself. You are only going to help me with maths and that's all. Mr. Malcolm already told me." I said, closing my locker and turned to him. "I know you must be thrilled, but just so you know, I'm not happy about this. Why did you agree to do this by the way? I'm sure you have better things to do than tutor me."He shrugged. "I don't know. It seems like fun." I rolled my eyes. "Sure it will be fun for you. You just want an excuse to torture me." He laugh. "Whatever you say, Kitten." He replied, then asked. "Where are we going to work, your house or mine?"

"Kevin, would you stop that? You are eating like a pig." I said to Kevin as we sat eating our lunch in the cafeteria. It was a week since the boys had took me to the gym and I found out Carson's extracurricular activity. Since then all I could think about was how dangerous it is and that he could get seriously injured. At least now I know why he has always come to school with cuts and bruises."No, I'm not." Kevin defended, his mouth stuffed with food."Eww," I wrinkled up my face. "Stop talking with the food in your mouth."Kevin swallowed the food that was in his mouth and stuck his tongue out at me."Yeah, that's real mature." I replied sarcastically. He continued to do it, so I stuck out mine at him as well. Now both of us were having a game and it was hilarious. The both of us were acting like children."I see none of you are mature now." Jasmine said, shaking her
