A Portrait of Colours

A Portrait of Colours

Eighteen year old Colin Lee's future has been mapped out for him. Get good grades at school, go to university, and eventually take over the family business. Even if he has absolutely no interest in it. It's his responsibility as the eldest son, after all. Everything seems to be going to plan until a chance encounter with a stranger dramatically changes the direction his perfectly planned life is heading. Colin's first night out at a party ends with him waking up hungover and next to Nathan Cole, a total stranger. Freaking out, Colin flees the scene, hoping to bury the incident far behind him, but fate has other plans, as he bumps into Nathan a few days later! Somehow, Nathan talks Colin into exchanging numbers, and so begins Colin's fall down the rabbit hole of love. Nathan lives a life decided wholly from his own choices, something Colin can only imagine. Nathan's loving personality is infectious to the stoic Colin, cracking the walls he's built to keep himself emotionally strong. They are drawn to each other despite their differences but will Colin willingly give up everything including his family, wealth and status for one man?

Chapter: Chapter 27: Paranoia

Chapter: Chapter 26: City of Five Million
Nathan was stuffed. He strolled along the lively street filled with pubs and restaurants, after having eaten his dinner at one of the restaurants. He’d eaten probably the best burger he’d had in a really long while. Sighing contentedly, he made his way through a side street as a shortcut back to the condo. His phone, which was on silent, vibrated once. Pulling it out of his jeans pocket, Nathan realised it was a text from his brother, asking of his whereabouts. Just as he was about to reply, he heard a soft moan.

Chapter: Chapter 25: Halfway Around the World
Nathan Cole was pissed. He’d just spent a shitload of money to fly halfway around the world. Literally, he had spent close to 24 hours in economy class, squeezed in his seat like a sardine in a packed can, to come visit his favourite (and only) brother. And for what? His idiot brother, who was supposed to be on two weeks of well-deserved leave, had answered his boss’s early morning phone call, begging him to come back to work for a couple of days!! Being the doormat that he is, Matt had agreed, much to Nathan’s chagrin. There must be more than one accountant at work at that

Chapter: Chapter 24: A Changed Man
“Could you stop being a dick to Mom and Dad?” The first thing Colin heard when he walked through the side door from the garage to the living room was the accusatory voice of his once adorable but now rather snarky kid brother. Jeremy was seated cross-legged on the leather sofa, phone in hand.

Chapter: Chapter 22: Goodbye My Lover
The old industrial zone stood apart from pretty much anything, a lone destitute group of buildings in the middle of nowhere. It was once a bustling place, the epicentre of activity back in the early 1900s, but its glory days were long gone. Now it was nothing more than an eyesore for anyone driving past on the southern highway.
