Chapter: Motherhood Here I Come
So almost 9 months have come and gone. I knew I was getting close I just didn't realize it was that close until it was knocking on my front door. I heard the knock and it was Stephanie and her sister from next door. We had been visiting awhile. I didn't realize it but I hadn't sat down all day and it was going on 10:00 p.m. I probably still wouldn't have except Stephanie said,"Why don't you set down Scarlett you look uncomfortable. Like your about ready to pop." I tried to set down at the end of the bed. We were in the front bedroom I'm not really sure why. I had to jump back up my back hurt so bad I couldn't even sit. Steph and her sister left so that I could get some rest. Little did we know any real rest was already in the rearview until about twenty hours up ahead.

Chapter: First Day Of School
So low and behold on the first day of school there's my yearbook guy walking in front of Joannaand I. My heart was pounding so hard I'm surprised he didn't hear it and look back. "Hey I guess he was a junior," I said elbowing her in the arm. "What are you talking about? She practically yelled it. So about the time I'm pointing out what I was talking about. He looked over his shoulder and down at us. I'm yanking my finger down considering it was pointed right at him I thought it best. She said laughing,"I can't believe you even remember that.". It was then just then that Joanna seen it. "You like him don't you?" "Don't tell no one. Not even our closest friends-frienimies. Promise me. I don't want anyone getting in the middle of this. Chapter: Sophomore Orientation
The day of Sophomore Orientation couldn't have went better if I had planned it myself. Huh! You could smoke once you got into high school. I went out to smoke.it was so hot that day and all of a sudden I could feel my head start spinning. I tried to get Shena's attention in enough time to get me a chair but it was too late and I knew I was going to pass out. I walked into the double doors and I remember feeling cold air and that was that. I was gone! I woke up trying to jump up off the floor. Everyone was standing in a circle around me. I had the nurse with one hand holding me back and both principals were standing back watching all the commotion. Finally the nurse allowed me to stand. She walked me back through to her office. I guess the crowds disappeared to their classes. After we were seated and sh

Chapter: Telling Dad
My dad had just gotten off the midnight shift just a few hours prior to their arrival home. They both worked at the glass plant in town. It was right about time for him to be waking up and her weekly beauty shop appointment. Now I don't know if it it was her own personal punishment for me. I would have to face my daddy ALONE all by myself. If it was I can't say that I blame her if it was after all she had to hear the news alone from the doctor. He started down the hall right about the time she started the car up. I could still hear him opening up his door because I was in that hallway. He was starting down it right about the time I was starting up. We got even with each other. Here it comes I thought just take your punishment swiftly and get it over with. I know I had that deer in the headlights look. I just couldn't help it. It was going to hurt me that I have no choice but to hurt him and that was the last thing I wanted to do."What did the doctor say?" He asked with

Chapter: Proof Positive
One day out of nowhere I was laying on my stomach on the living room floor watching TV. When I got up it was as if my breasts were swollen and they were sore to touch. I knew I had just had my period a few weeks prior to that. So it shouldn't be from that. You know 15 year old girls, who know it all, are really dumb as they come when you're talking about life. Then it had been two weeks or so I woke up and my ribs were killing me. I had one pass out spell in the shower. I bumped my head going down and it woke me right up and brought me out of it. I just assumed it was like all my other blackouts that left me holding on to a kitchen counter. Begging God not to let me fall when I was there all alone. All these signs only pointed to one thing."Mom I think it's time to go to the doctor." I said.So me and mom loaded into the car. We were lucky someone had cancelled their appointment for that day and they could get me right in. We really didn't have to wait that long e

Chapter: The Yearbook
It was late one summer evening after skating. Me and my friend Joanna were looking at her yearbook. See Joanna was just winding up her Sophomore year at the high school. Which meant I was just finishing up at the Junior High. See where we came from high school were grades 10-12. There were 2 Junior Highs in our small town. If you lived on one side of the bridge you went to Clyde Boyd Junior High 7-9 grades and if you lived on the other side of the river you went to Central Junior High 7-9 grades. We all started to kindergarten together. Then there 3 elementary schools. 1-6 on my side of the river. Back to the pooI was trying to make when I wound up here somewhere. My name is Scarlett. I was looking at her yearbook. When this long. Haired jet black (looked smooth as silk. I could see my fingers tangled up in it) Indian caught my eye and it was like he was
