Chapter: Four.
I opened my eyes and everything was disoriented at first. A stale smell filled my nostrils and it made me feel nauseated. It felt like an hospital because I remember vividly the horrible odour that always seemed to be there after "John's incident." But I didn't want to think about that now,I just wanted to know, where the hell I was.My surroundings got clearer bit I could still hear distant voices and I could feel a pressure on my hand. I tried to remove it but it clamped down harder. I tried to calm my jittering brain down and at last everything came to focus. I got scared when I finally saw Troy's face impossibly close to mine. I sat up right in shock."W-what are you doing?"I asked warily, trying to keep myself from stammering and failing pathetically."Calm down babe"Troy said chuckling lowly, doing unbearable things to the pit of my stomach"I am not going to kiss you..at least not yet"Goosebumps spread across my

Chapter: Three
I kept willing the car to have a difficulty or breakdown. I didn't want to go to school without my usual shield. I wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea at all.I think my mom noticed the way I was fidgeting because she said"I don't know why you're so nervous honey. There is nothing to be worried about. You are beautiful. You don't have to hide it."I sighed and replied"You are my mom. You have to say that."She smiled but said nothing, her eyes on the road. When I finally reached the school,my heart hammered in my chest as I tried to steady my wobbling feet. I didn't think that I was ready to take this type of step. It made people see my vulnerability and I didn't want that. I was already gullible and just by looking into my clear blue eyes, you could guess my fears..see what I was afraid of and I didn't want anyone to know my fears. Even my friends."What are you thinking about sweetie?"My mom got out of the car when she saw tha

Chapter: Two.
My geography class was the only thing I looked forward to when I wake up every morning. Some would even say that it is the reason I wake up every morning. A chance to see the one and only Troy Black.OAHS,was like the only school in town where rich people went. This is because their method is different. For example, ice cream among other things were served for lunch and this is one of the things I look forward to. Also, seniors and juniors had some classes together hence the reason Troy and I had a geography class together. As I explained earlier,I always got to the class five minutes earlier so I could sit at the back and day dream about Troy all day. It always helped matters when Troy was sitting close to me. He didn't ever notice me anyways.I walked into the class with my head down, praying to God that I would be the first to enter the class. It was always better that way because no one could notice me when my head was down on my table. My prayer

They just wanted attention and high school drama so we called them the drama queens. While some others came to school to learn a little and gawk at a particular bad boy. They got bullied and laughed at by other students. Teachers didn't even care about these ones. These set of human beings were called the pathetic ones. The categories mentioned above were the main categories in my high school and I fell into the category of the pathetic ones.I got bullied by May and her group, laughed at when the same May pulls a public stunt and invisible to teachers. Chapter: Prologue
The toilet smelt horrible and it was filled with yellow stains. My lunch threatened to come out of my stomach. They pushed my head inside and the dirty water filled my mouth making me feel sicker."Please, let me go."I shouted as soon as my head came out of the toilet, but they didn't even acknowledge me. They just continued with their torture, bubbling with pure excitement and I wondered how they could live with themselves."Please."I said one more time, but one of them slapped me across my face and laughed again."Shut up,Ingrid."May screamed in annoyance like the psycho she was.Despite my anger,I kept mute immediately. It was wrong to disobey May,the queen bee of the school.May and her gang of weird friends stopped pushing my head inside the toilet and I spat out the water in disgust. One of them kicked my face making blood to drop out of my nostrils. They were muttering something about how rude I was but then May laughed. Her menacing

Could I be getting a fever?I shivered as the cold water came in contact with my skin. I was hoping that the water would reduce my temperature a little.I picked my toothbrush still in the shower and brushed it weakly with the water cascading over my body.Today was going to be somehow,I could feel it."Hey honey, did you sleep well?"My mother asked as I made my way to the dining room.René and my mother were already seated and they were talking about something. Harmony. The plates looked like a fountain. It looked as if it hadn't been washed in months. As if I had not just washed it yesterday. On a Monday morning when I was supposed to be preparing for school I was trapped inside. Washing plates.School was not rosy but it was nothing like this hell. By the rate I was going I would be extremely late to class and I would most likely be punished. But that was the least of my problems. I had a huge problem. My period. It was late this month and what my mother could say was that"You are pregnant."She had said it with so much conviction that even I had feared that I was indeed pregnant before I threw the thoughts away. My mother had beaten me black and blue yesterday as she told me to confess but I told her that there was nothing to confess and she beat me the more because I was using my English to mock her.My stiff muscles and bruises over my arms was proof of how bru

Simone.Brrng!!!Why is my alarm going off on a Saturday?I turned and tried to turn it off but instead it fell off the table and landed on the ground, making a loud crashing sound.I grumbled and sat down on the bed and I tried to rid sleep from my body.I took my phone and checked the time.7:05.What was I thinking yesterday that had made me set an alarm on a Saturday?"Simone, open this door. We heard a crash."I heard my mom's voice behind the door and she sounded worried. Typical mom."I am fine mom. It's just my alarm clock.""Are you sure, honey? Are you sure you feel up for that tutoring assignment that Principal John gave you?"Ohhhhhh!I knew that I had forgotten something.I really didn't want to go but if I didn't do as the principal asked he'd tell my parents about the fight and that would be a disaster."No it's fine, mom. Omotayo."Tayo, come back here! I am still talking to you.""But I am done with you!"I replied my father back smoothly.Omotayo,one. Father, zero."When did it become okay to talk to your father that way?""Since you decided to move your family around like poultry."Mehn!I am on fire today. My father grunted in frustration but I couldn't care less. He lost my respect and love when I started to lose reason."I don't see a big deal in this,Omotayo."My father replied, his voice losing all anger that was there before."Of course you don't see the big deal in it!"I exclaimed incredulously. "You never see the big deal in anything."My father raised his hand to smack my face but judging from the look on my face,he stopped and brought it down. Perhaps he thought that if he slapped me I would slap him back. Perhaps, he was right."Watch your tongue,Tayo!"I rolled my eyes and ran upstairs while ignoring ca

Simone."Madam Simone, wake up!"I heard the same line that I have been listening to for the past seventeen years."Leave me alone!"In case you were wondering, I just started saying this line four years ago. When Caitlin decided to put our entire class into groups."It's your dad calling you!"The maid said smugly and I knew why.Let me tell you a little about my Father:My father is Kunle Adeboye, the owner of a multi national conglomerate. He deals with almost everything. He has nightclubs,a lip gloss production industry. He produces sugar,cement,napkins,rice....just name it. Some people actually call him the head of the Nigerian Mafia. My mother is Mona Adeboye. She works from home, even though she has a law degree. She has a tiny figure but she can't be taken advantage of,mostly because of my dad.Now back to my dad!He is a big, soft, cuddly bear despite his seemingly hard face and bulky stature. No where to hold as I tried get myself together."Damini!"I turned when I heard my name. It was so faint but urgent. I could tell that the voice belonged to a girl."Damini!!"The girl called out to me. Her face was blurry but her voice was as clear as the day. Deep and soft at the same time. I could make out the outline of her hair and I reached out to touch it but as I brought my hand closer she went further away from me."Help me."The voice floated around me because she seemed so far from me now. I still couldn't see her face and I was getting frustrated."Come closer."I shouted at her without meaning to."I can't."Her voice broke as she said those two words."Please!"I said, with a lot of emotions in my voice. As soon as she heard that one word, she froze and nodded slowly. As if
