The British and the French armies start attacking the Germanic army that was hiding in the Somme heights, in a 15 miles battlefield, the worst battle the British empire ever had. On the first day 57 470 British soldier died, this is one of the worst loses ever, it effected all the other soldiers, it broke them. Everyone that the best thing to do is dragging the soldiers back to avoid an other horrifying loss. But the commanders kept trying to push the Germanic army away from the Somme heights. At the evening, a French village where the British engineers were digging trenches under it for seven months trying to get to some Germanic leaders.
