As Ruby neared the council house, she could hear raised voices growing louder. She could make out the voices of several Alphas of other packs arguing back and forth. The discussion seemed to get more heated by the second and Ruby was not looking forward in the slightest to going inside. 'Take a deep breath' the familiar voice inside her said 'and go.' The weeks after Jamie's death were hectic for everyone. Ruby was trying to juggle several important tasks. She was trying to lead her pack and still trying to deal with the uprisings in the border regions. She was trying to find Jamie's murderer with very little evidence to go on, and she had to find someone new to fulfill the role of beta in the Amazone pack.She was mostly bothered by the last two tasks.
