Mag-log inIn the morning I woke up with a newly acquired backache. It seems he slept through the day leaving me no choice but to sleep on the couch. Not a good idea but I couldn't take the risk of sleeping on the same bed with him. I squinted my eyes as the sunlight was too strong. After a while, I finally got up and went to check if he was still sleeping or not. I was mildly disappointed to see a slight crumpled empty bed but then again I was thankful that he was gone. I got ready and choose to wear khaki shorts and a simple t-shirt. Clipping my hair behind I came down the glass stairs and saw Selena sitting on the couch going through some huge albums and piles of papers scattered over the table.
"What's all this?" I sat beside her.
"Oh hey, I was just going through some designs getting a little bit of idea you know. We have to go To Doan's place."
"Yeah, I am ready anyway."
"Dylan is going to drop us off over there. David and he have to go see for their suits."
"Oh, today?"
"Well yes, today." She closed the giant heap of the books and checked her phone. "They are outside."
"I'll go get my stuff then." I rushed up the stairs and got a phone and purse.
The car was already parked out. David and Selena were busy talking softly and Serena was laughing in between while David held her waist smiling at her. It was all a peaceful sight but when I saw Dylan I coughed out. He looked good in his black suit and his shirt was still buttoned down. Zylen and I shared a helpless look. I was a little bit surprised to know that even he felt awkward about it.
"You guys have a whole life to do this but we need to get a move on," I announced.
They both were jerked off from their little heaven and proceeded towards the car. In the car, it seems they both couldn't keep their hands to themselves. David silently teased Selena's thigh and she slapped his hand off warning him with her eyes to which he only grinned mischievously. I glanced at Dylan who was sitting right beside me in the back and he shifted in his seat he caught me staring at him and gave me a questioning look I gestured towards the 'touchy' couple and he stared at them. I simply smiled at that covering my mouth with the back of my hand gazing out of the window.
After a while, Selena said, "You can park here. It's right here Dav."
The car was parked on the side and we all got out. David and Selena were discussing while Dylan and I waited for them to finish off.
"Come on let's go." Selena took my arm and we entered the small shop tagged Doan.
"Welcome both of you ladies come on. Selena." A short man with white dyed hair which had streaks of pink and green half ran and skipped towards us. He wore a nude-colored suit and kissed Serena's hand and then finally saw me.
"Aren't you Tessa Gray?" He clasped my hand looking at me with his big eyes and I just nodded to that.
"Oh my god, you are so lucky!!! I mean I would be so high if I had got the chance of marrying him. How is he at home? Tell me about him." He jumped on the sight and I was too dazed to answer.
"Oh, Doan seriously you have to leave her. Come on, concentrate."
"Oh yes of course I am sorry. Come this way." He turned around and we went further inside.
In Doan's office, we discussed the colors and the other stuff. Since the wedding was going to take place in the backyard of the villa we decided to go with the lilac light green and white as the backyard was a mixture of those.
"Hey, Tessa will you just go and check on the boys. Help them with the suit and stuff. It's opposite to the street take a left and third shop named 'Ferrera'."
"Oh yeah sure why not."
I got up and exit the shop crooked the road and took a left just as Selena had instructed. Ferrera was a massive shop with rich classic suits displayed on the shop window. I pushed the glass door and saw a receptionist typing something on her computer she saw me and gave me her professional smile.
"What can I help you with?"
"I am looking for Dylan and David they are here for the suits?" The receptionist had a questioning frown on her face.
"I am Tessa Gray. Dylan's wife." And as if somebody just slapped her she straightened herself and said.
"Oh, this way on the first floor. I apologize."
"No, it's okay." I waved it off.
We went up the stairs and I saw a huge collection of suits and dome mannequins on display. I saw Dylan in a crisp black suit similar to what he wore earlier but slightly different. He was looking at himself in the mirror and helplessly fiddled with a piece of black cloth around his neck.
"Here give it to me. I can make a bow." I caught hold of the cloth and started making a bow.
He was visibly shocked but he stood straight and looked down observing me. "When did you come?"
"I came just now. Where is David?"
"He is trying his suit."
"Okay."
I finished the bow and came closer tiptoed a bit to adjust his collar. I caught his familiar scent and somehow it was soothing and a little bit spicy. Coming back I looked up and saw him staring at me fiercely. His eyes were turning green. I got lost in them watching them getting greener every second. His jaw grew tight and then I forcefully snapped myself out. Blinking furiously I stepped back but then he caught my hand and pulled me towards him so that there was a centimeter distance between us. His cool minty breath was hitting my burning face and he was dipping in slowly.
"Thank you." That is all he said but kept on staring at my lips and licked his own while I was too dazed.
I somehow managed to say, "You're welcome." But it came out as a whisper. We were still fixed at our spot neither of us attempting to move.
"You guys should totally get a room now. Like right now." David's playful voice boomed from behind.
We both snapped into his direction and I saw Dav in a grey suit smirking at both of us and shaking his head. Dylan still did not let go of my arm and glared at Dav which made Dav just cough out.
"Okay anyway, how do I look?"
I jerked my hand off from him and step ahead to get some distance between him. And observed David from top to bottom. The grey suit was perfect.
"Um yeah, looks nice."
"So it's done then."
The tailor took their measurements and then we all got out of the shop. Selena was waiting for us outside we all then headed towards the car.
"Hey, can we have something like from outside I actually didn't have anything since the morning?" I said when we were in the car.
"Oh yeah sure why not we can," David said while taking a turn.
We stopped in a local restaurant and waited for David and Selena to come as they had to do some work before. I drummed the table slightly waiting for them and not daring to make eye contact with him since that little encounter of ours. From the corner of the eye, I saw him busy typing on his phone and then he kept it in his pocket. I accidentally kicked his leg to which he groaned.
"I am sorry I didn't mean it I just wanted to stretch."
"It's fine." And he was busy looking outside again.
Minutes later the couple arrived at our table.
"The press didn't follow as they do usually," David commented.
"Well, I didn't inform anybody and took the day off. Dad is covering up for me in the office." Dylan quickly answered.
Our orders came just in five minutes and then we dug into our food. David and Selena shared their food while I finished mine in no time. By the time I looked up I saw him giving a raised eyebrow expression and I shrugged.
The ride back to the house was quite a silent one. It was Dylan who was driving and the other couple were sleeping behind peacefully. I unconsciously fiddled with my mother's silver chain thinking about the upcoming events. The next two months were absolutely jampacked according to Selena.
"Hey guys wake up we are here." I gently announced and both of them woke up.
Soon we were in our room and then the dilemma of who will use the bathroom first rose.
"I have to check something from work you can go first." I made an excuse to which he just nodded.
Opening up my laptop I checked my mail and it was absolutely empty. I heard the shower running and blocked the unwanted thoughts plaguing me again and again. I gripped my laptop when I heard the bathroom door open. There were some fumbling sounds in the distance which then suddenly stopped.
"Hey, Tessa?" I heard his voice and he was standing right behind me I still didn't look back and kept on typing something.
"Yeah?"
"The cupboard is locked it's not opening can you open it up?"
"Yeah sure, why not." I got up like a robot and marched my way towards the cupboard.
"You are supposed to push it down at the end then drag," I explained and then opened it.
I stepped aside and then at that moment caught a glimpse of him. He was bent over slightly with his well built wide back facing towards me. It glistened due to the water droplets over it. I couldn't see his back of the head but the towel hung loosely around his waist daring to drop off any moment. Before he could thank me or anything I almost sprinted my way out of there resuming my work but really I was taking deep breaths.
You are going to be dead!
Minutes later the lights of the other side of the room switched off which indicated that he had slept. I quickly changed and then took the couch.
He and I were in the same bed again. It was like deja-vu. I opened my eyes to see his beautiful face. But the space beside me was absolutely empty. I got up immediately the covers bunching at my waist. I scanned the whole room to get a sight of him but I couldn't see him anywhere. "Dylan." I wrapped the cover around me and got out of my bed. As soon as I stood up I fell back into the bed. I was too sore. The last night's events played in my head making me blush at the memories that it still tingled my body. Smiling I forced myself to get up to look around for him. Passing by the mirror I stopped. There were marks which were on my neck running down to my chest. As I touched them our night flashed once again before me. I swung open the bathroom doors and it was neat and cold. On the sink, I saw an open after-shave lotion. I picked it up and inhaled it.It was his. I kept the bottle back to its place. Dumping the sheet aside I walked
I turned back to see Dylan standing rigidly on a rock holding his coat from flying. His hair was swept and covering his face a little bit which he pushed back. The lights of the villa were the only source of light. His question had taken me off guard beside his presence. "No." I leveled with him. "What are you doing here?" "I just wanted to get away." He straightened his coat. "Are you cold?" Every word he spoke was taking me off guard. I had noticed a certain change in his behavior for the past 2-3 days. Even the slight change was a relief to me. He was behaving less rigid now. "No, I am not." I looked in front and very carefully sat down. Suddenly I was wrapped in a warm thick material which turned out to be Dylan's coat. "You were shivering." He whispered and sat beside me but at a safe distance. The coat was so warm comfortable that I snuggled in it. I looked towards him as he gazed out. I
Every cloud has a silver lining. My mother always repeated it to me. If I caught a cold or if there was trouble in school I would remember what she said. She would also say that somethings happen for our own good. I knew she said that when she couldn't explain somethings. These two things echoed to me when she and dad passed away and they didn't make any sense to me. They still don't. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't find the answer to my questions. She is not here to explain it to me. I had to find it out by myself. The workers were giving the last finishing touch to the hall. The back was blocked for any person to access the set up which was being constructed for the wedding. Doan really did it perfectly well. Everything that Selena had ordered was right on the platter. "Don't put those lights there. It's already enough." "But ma'am Selena ma'am told me to put them up." "I am her maid of honor. I decid
After talking to Spencer about my new project I also caught up with Maria. We talked for straight two hours. She was busy with Jason and this time it was serious. They both had confessed their love for each other. I teased Maria the whole time about it. During college, one night, she had swore that she would never fall in love. And now when I reminded her about it she didn't remember. We both knew she was joking. There was a week left for the wedding. The engagement party was in three days and then the wedding. Everything was ready. In the afternoon I found myself roaming in the backyard. Picturing the whole wedding. People talking and laughing, the band playing, Selena walking down the aisle. There were unknown happiness and satisfaction within me watching her marrying the love of her life. It's like in the movies how we desperately hope for the lovers to live happily ever after.I sat down on the grass thinking about other things being alone with myself. With
"David!" "I am sorry. What am I supposed to do?" "I can't." "Please. For Selena? Please." He took his hands in mine shaking them. He looked at me so desperately that I reconsidered. Still."No." "Can't you do this small thing for your brother?" "Sorry I am thinking of being the evil sister!" "Pretty Please?" "David." I was cut off by Dylan. He was all suited up leaving for office at the noon. It was unusual. "Selena was looking for you David." He said it in his usual cold rigid tone. He was glaring at David and at our entwined hands. Tightening his watch more and he fisted his hand. The veins popping out at this which made both of us gulp. "Are you alri-" "Now." David scuttled his way out looking scared and confused. He mouthed me 'please remember' at the end and ran up the stairs. We were l
"How'd you get that cut?" I glanced at my hand with which I held my spoon. Today the whole family was having breakfast together. It happened for the first time ever since we got here. Even Dylan was seated right beside me. When Selena asked that question he paused. "I uh. I ..broke a glass. I broke a glass and cut my hand while cleaning." "Is it deep, dear?" Clara asked her forehead creased. "No, it's just like a papercut not exactly but yeah..." And I shut up before I would fumble. "Okay. So how are the wedding preparations, Selena?" "Fine today I have to check out the wedding dress and the bridesmaids dress with Tessa." "Today?" "Yeah, today. You don't remember? We both made the schedule together Tess." "Right. Yes....umm.. I do remember." "You need to put reminders on your phone if you keep on forgetting stuff. I mean I am getting married in
