Chapter 1

A job

She sprang from the walls, balancing on the edges of windows and pillars. If her perfect balance or amazing agility did not scare you, you probably were already dead.

Under the cover of night, she was dangerous. But during the day,she was just your average person, with a dark history. Not that she did anything wrong during her younger days, but someone did wrong things to her.But she killed them, because that's the Tanith way.

Darkness crept through the basement as she entered, on hand on a butterfly knife, another on a pistol. She always like butterfly knifes, swords were cool too.

She saw a shadow moving and planted her feet on the cold floor, waiting for more movement.Thats what she knew worked.A shadow flinched and twitched so Tanith went to search.

She saw him, tall for an old man, he was turning fifty, while Tanith was eighteen. He was old enough to be her dad, and that was because he was.

“Hi,dad,"Tanith grumbled, and saw the look of surprise she loved.“I'm going to cherish this moment,"her sweet english accent spoke. Those words could make any boy fall on his knees, under her command.

He shivered, maybe because his basement was cold in the london winter, or maybe because he was frightened.Either way, he knew what was coming.

“Rememeber the first day you picked me up?From mother's?That was the worst day of my life, I knew she shouldn't have let you take me, but you put a knife to someone's throat and you can make people do things they never would,"Tanith smirked. She was enjoying this.

He stepped back, reaching for a gun, but Tanith already disappreared from sight. In the shadows, that was Tanith all over.

He pointed the barrel of his pistol down, looking, and from behind him, a hand was thrown. The fist to his neck made a satisfying crunch when it connected, to Tanith,at least. He tried to punch back, but Tanith already had the knife to his throat.“I haven't heard you speak. You always spoke when you did those things to me,"she reminded.

“What things?"her father asked, a slight grin appearing on his face. And Tanith decided to end it.A trial of blood broke loose on his neck, pain etched into ever crease on his face. And his face had a lot of creases,he was an old man, after all.

Tanith looked one last time, took a deep breath and said,“London ain't for me, you tainted the experience.I'm moving out in an hours time, to a nicer place.I hope you regret your last moments, I won't be seeing them."

And just like that, Tanith walked back to her dilapidated apartment and took her things. She booked a cab, and headed for Singapore.
