Daddy, Mommy Has Fled Again

It was scorching and sweltering. She felt like her whole body was on fire.

Regina Young staggered forward to push open the door of Room 906. She gathered all the strength she had left and thrown herself onto the bed with much difficulty.

She was numb and intoxicated by the alcohol she had consumed. Her brain was unable to ruminate. She only had one thought in mind. She must not be caught by those men, no matter what!

In the dark, she seemed to have heard heavy breathing.

“Get out!”

Regina could not think straight anymore. She panicked when she heard the chaotic footsteps just outside the door. “No! I cannot leave! Please don’t chase me out…”

Regina knew that she would not have a good end if the delinquents caught her.

She lurched forward and grasped tightly onto his clothes. “Please save me. I’m begging you. Please save me. Help me to report to the police…”

“Let go.”

“No, no…” she begged.

“Scram!”

His tone showed restraint on his raging fury.

Regina had lost all clarity of thought. She could only remember clenching the corner of his shirt tensely, refusing to let go.

Footsteps could be heard approaching the door. His frown deepened.

The people hunting her had not given up. They had even gone as far as spiking her drink.

He could not hold it in any longer! Yet, she was still clinging onto him!

“You brought this upon yourself. Don’t regret it.”

Regina was not aware of what happened after that. Her only remaining consciousness was remembering tightly clutching onto the man begging him to save her. She was then momentarily woken up by an acute pain!

Regina repeatedly hit the man who was on top of her in desperation but to no avail. Her throat was paralyzed. Not the slightest of sound could be heard.

The man cursed out loud. He did not expect that this would be her first time.

“I apologize. I will take responsibility for this.”

Tears were pouring down Regina’s cheeks. She kept shaking her head as her tears blurred her vision. She could not see the man’s face clearly.

She could only vaguely see a black tattoo under his neck.

Clark Xavier gradually regained his calmness. He lowered his head to glance at the woman’s small pale face. A glint of pity flashed in his eyes.

He had always hated women who came close to him, let alone being in an intimate situation like this.

However, the woman lying before him was an exception. He was clear that the drug was only part of the reason.

This woman was exactly his type. Even the scar on her chest had mesmerized him.

A series of knocks was then heard from the door.

Clark turned around to get out of bed. He hurriedly put on his clothes and pulled open the door.

“Boss, the people have arrived to pick us up. We need to leave immediately. Some are still trapped!”

Clark turned to see the woman on the bed. She was curled up like a weak nestling. His voice turned gentle. “Find someone to guard this place. Do not let the woman leave, and do not allow anyone to get in.”

“Yes, sir. I will immediately arrange for someone to come over.”

He was guilt-ridden but could not make amends with her just yet. After all, it was her first time. However, he had hurt her with his recklessness.

Clark wanted to take a closer look at her face, but he did not want to wake her from her deep sleep. Furthermore, he could not linger around under the pressing circumstances.

Clark took another glance at Regina as he was about to leave. His eyes fell on an address keychain sitting among her pile of clothes. He picked it up and held it in his hands.

“Fraser Residence, House Number 113.”

Clark mumbled to himself, “Wait for me.”

Not long after he left, Regina abruptly opened her eyes. Terror-stricken, her eyes were brimming with horror.

Half an hour later, Clark’s men rushed in, but no one was in the room. All that was left was the crimson red stain on the white bedsheet.
