Devil's paradise

"Dave, look! It must be a human" Lungi exclaimed whilst pointing in the water at a grotesque silhouette that appeared like a wooden log or some dead animal floating on the water.Dave took out his extra high range binoculars from the pouch and gently gazed through the lenses, his jaw almost dropped, he couldn't believe what he was viewing in the binoculars. He quickly took off the binoculars and rubbed his eyes vigorously before he put back the lenses to take another look."Lungi, Lungi!", Dave screamed as if he had stepped on the tail of a viper, he dropped the binoculars and started sweating profusely.Upon noticing Dave's reaction , Lungi was perplexed and dumbfounded at the same time, he could only frown and mutter some indiscrete words under his throat. 

At this moment, Dave immediately realised the gravity of peril they had just landed themselves into. This was no ordinary case of drowning. With his 6 years in the military service as well as 3 good years directly involved in armed combat in the fight against terrorists in Mozambique, Dave had become so hardened that he could face any kind of scary situation without any fear, however, this lifeless yet unscathed body in front of him was something he had never anticipated in his whole life.  He started sweating profusely and his face was beginning to turn red like beetroot, his hands shaking and jelly-like knees struggling to keep him to his feet, he quickly gathered together all his wits and grabbed his friend by the wrist. Glaring into his eyes, Dave muttered, "Lungi, calm down.
