The next day far from first light, men wore armour and manned battle stations. Akoni put on an hauberk, it weighed 10kg, a gorget, greaves on both legs, chain coif, and gauntlets. He wore a brown surcoat over the chain mail. Placed spaulders on shoulders and vambraces on elbows.
