Chapter Three

You

Kayla's POV

"Hey,Kayla right?"she asked.

"Yes Miss..."I trailed as I looked at her ID card"...Diane,how may I help you?"

"Umm...I just wanted to ask how the interview went..".

"I don't think I got the job,Mr Hawkins was mad at me for what happened this morning"I replied and she asked about what happened and I told her what transpired between us and she felt sorry for me.

"Well I've got to go now,my brother will soon be back from school"I said and left the building and went to get my car and drove out.Today was so not what I expected.

After I left the building I went home to tidy the house and prepare lunch for when Evans comes home from school and I realized that there isn't much supplies left so I make use of the little we have and make pasta I am not a huge fan of cooking because of the lack of time but I make very good dishes if I do say so myself.After preparing the food I pack it in a bento for Evans and I grab my purse and the house keys.I lock up the front door and tuck the key into my purse as I proceed to a supermarket nearby to buy some groceries, I reach there after few minutes of walking and I picked out some of the stuffs we needed at home and head to the counter to pay the cashier lady there.After paying her my phone starts ringing and I check it to see Noah's name flashing on the phone I pick up the phone only to hear Noah's enthusiastic voice booming from my years old phone"Hey Kaybear how ya doing"I laugh at the nickname he gave me.I always hated it and told him to stop but he refused and the name kinda stuck.

"Hey Noah I'm fine,what are you up to now you've called me"I reply knowing Noah he calls only when there is an emergency and he needs my help,he usually just texts me.Noah has been my best friend alongside Lilly,there were there for me when I needed them and was looking for a job and a place for me and Evan to stay and Noah found me and he and Lilly who was his next door neighbour in the same apartment I'm leaving in now let me say in their place for some time before I was able to get a job at a coffee shop,they helped me tutor Evan,as Lilly is a teacher,when I didn't have enough money to pay his school fees and they were the ones who persuaded me to take up this job offer at the Hawkins Corp.

"Kay what do you mean"he whines through the phone and I giggle at his childish act.

"Noah what do you want I don't have all day to spend with you"I ask and he replies quickly"Umm...can I come spend the night at your place for a while"he asks quickly.

"Why,don't you have your own place"."...Umm I've got a girl on my tail apparently she is one of my night stands and she has been on my tail for sometime and I'm tired so can I come stay with you,I promise to leave after sometime...pretty please..."Kyle is infamous for his womanizing skills,he gets a girl today he dumps her the next,this behaviour of his has constantly annoyed Lilly and I.

"Ask Lilly"I say trudging along the bags I got from the supermarket on my way.

"I already did and you know Lilly she refused even before I could complete my request, so right know you are my only choice and I'm sure you wouldn't leave your little cutie pie stranded now would ya"he says.

Noah is soo gonna be the death of me and I know I'm gonna regret saying this but...

"Okay Noah you can come over for a few days nothing more and nothing less,okay?"I had to move the phone from ear as he screams my ears off and this brings a smile on my face

"Thanks Kay love ya"he shouts before he hangs up...Noah...

Thump..."Oh my god I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was goi..."the rest of my words fly out as I raise my head only to see my nemesis...blue eyes.It's like the world is against me today as I just had to collide with the last person I wanted to see.

"Are you stalking me"You've got to be kidding me,he has the guts to say that.

"And why would I want to do that,huh why would I want to stalk you of all people in the entire world"I say and hiss as I attempt to leave I don't even want any trouble right now but before I could attempt to walk past him he dragged me back.

"Don't you dare walk out on me ever again Miss Highlander or you'll pay for it"he says and I secretly shiver at the tone he was using.I guess no one has ever walked out on him."You should count yourself lucky I've got somewhere to be right now and I want you in my office tommorrow morning at eight am sharp you have the job, you'll get a call very soon giving you the details and entailing you on the do's and dont's of being my PA,now I must go as I have somewhere to be"he says before leaving me very shocked,I  quickly gather my things that fell when he jerked me back and hightail it out of there.As I approached my house I see light seeping through the curtains I rush in and yell"Evans are you back"and a low"Yes"could be heard from his room,that kid and his games.By now it's just past five and I start working on dinner when my phone rings from the living room and I leave the kitchen to answer it.

"Hello who is this?"I ask the unknown caller.

"Hello is this Miss Highlander?"the caller who is apparently a lady replies.

"Yeah I'm the one,why do you ask?"I ask not knowing who it is.

"Okay I call in respect of the interview you did and I'm informing you that you got the job and should be at the company by eight tomorrow morning "and she continues to tell me what to do and the rest where scheduled for when I got to the company.The call ended some minutes later and I went back to the kitchen to continue making dinner,when I'm done I call Evan to come eat.The food was eaten in silence until Evans  asked about the interview and I tell him I got the job,and I ask him about school and he told me he made two new friends.After dinner Evan goes up to his room and I take care of the dishes before heading to my room having a quick shower and going to bed with an image of Mr blue eyes..
