Complimenting Y*u

"It's time to go," Evelyn picked up her bag from the side and stood up.

Clara followed her steps as her face beamed with glee. 

Today's talk has encouraged her a lot. She has grown more clear about her goals.

"I still think you should stop working with your father." Evelyn scratched her nose. She had an ominous feeling growing within her.

"My friends say that  I should learn under him." Clara ran her hand through her hair. She felt apprehensive. 

Evelyn was just a year older than her, but her demeanor was domineering. 

"and Alexander also s.." Clara trailed off as if defending herself.

Why was Clara so nervous? she was the person who has always been confident in herself. If anyone comes face to face, she can take them alone. 

But the dealing in business is different. While stepping into the Business, Clara was an infant. One wrong decision will not only hinder her life but also of people working under her. Clara was terrified to do this gamble.

"Alexander Knight?" Evelyn's forehead creased. 

"Yes," Clara lifted her chin. Evelyn's mood changed so swiftly that Clara was confused. Was it really so or her illusion.

"Never listen to him in regards to your field" As they moved towards the door, Evelyn's voice was charged with annoyance.

"Uh?"

"An arrogant, cruel, and impulsive person like him is unqualified to give you any advice" Evelyn's face was expressionless, and her voice was blunt. 

Evelyn unlocked the door. Recognizing the person standing in front of her, Evelyn's eyes blazed with hatred.

All three were facing each other. Clara was started to see Alexander here. They have not spoken with each other for a few days now, as both of them were busy.

Alexander studied the person in front of him. He gave a half-smile, the girl was dressed casually. Her skin looked soft, making one's hands itchy to touch it.

Evelyn's eyes gazed at him with hate. Even in this situation, Alexander felt that Evelyn looked pretty.

She was not heavenly beautiful, nor was she the most beautiful girl he has seen. But there was something in her that made her unforgettable.

Both were glaring at each other as hunters looking at its prey. Clara was unsure who was who in this situation.

"Never knew Mr. Knight had a hobby to spy," Evelyn raised her brow. She did not anticipate meeting him so soon.

He was a lot taller than her. Her height was not small. In front of Alexander, she still resembled a kitten in front of a wolf.

"And I never knew Miss Day has a hobby to badmouth others." Gathering his thoughts together, Alexander smiled. The little kitten was scowling at him. His hand wanted to pull her cheeks to tease her more. 

"I was complimenting you," Evelyn giggled, "or even exaggerating your only qualities." 

Alexander was wordless with rage. Fury blinded him for a second until the sweet laughter filled the air. 

The girl made his emotions turn in a whirlpool. 

His frustration started melting, while his eyes were set on her face. Evelyn's lips tilted in a curve, brightening her entire face.

'Happiness suits her, much more than anger.'

"Alex.." Clara's soft words brought Alexander back from his dreams.

Alexander was surprised by his sudden realization. He was paying much more attention to Evelyn than needed. He did not know her well, and yet he had started observing her subconsciously.

Was he attracted to her? But this was not the same feelings he felt for Layla? Alexander was bewildered.

"I'll drop you home" He shook his head to clear his thoughts, as he eventually saw his best friend beside Evelyn.

"You guys continue." turning her head towards Clara, Evelyn asserted silently.

 "I will see you tonight," with these words, Evelyn turned around and left without waiting for an answer.

"Tonight?" Alexander lifted his eyebrows, looking at the fading figure at a distance.

"Hmm, the whole family is invited" Clara turned towards Alexander, who was still facing an empty corridor. 

A thought suddenly flashed in her mind looking at Alexander's lingering eyes, but it was soon shot down.

"Let's go,"  Clara extended her hands towards Alexander's arms and moved forward in the direction of his car. 

There was only one thought in Clara's mind. Things are going to change soon.
