Marriage's Long Journey: Mr. Howard, Please Let Me Go

She would never let her get away with it, she would have rather died than allow that.

In her panic, Ashley South reached out and clawed at that man’s eyes causing him to flinch away from the pain. She then raised the wine glass and smashed it on Fat Marr’s head.

Fat Marr flew into a humiliated rage, raised his fist, and uncaringly struck at her head.

Ashley South could not avoid his fists which fell like the rain and those explosive pains brought her back to those imprisonment days.

She was beaten relentlessly by those people in a wet bathroom.

Michelle could not look on anymore and rushed forward to protect her.

She was tough and had not died.

However, Michelle was never coming back.

That fat man was still cursing when the lounge door opened.

“Do you still think you’re the lady of the South Family?”

Arthur Quigg originally thought that he had interrupted someone’s fun. However, when he heard Ashley South’s name he immediately turned, charged forward, and kicked Fat Marr off her with a flying kick.

“Who gave you the courage to hit her? Damn fatty, don’t you know how to write the death word?”

Arthur Quigg was raging with madness as he constantly threw punches, wanting to crush this pig head.

Why was he this angry? He also did not know.

Everybody always blamed and thought that Ashley South deserved what she had gotten. Even he, who played with Ashley South and was her childhood friend felt that way. However, he never dared to see Ashley South again ever since Ashley South and Ana attempt to jump.

Perhaps Ashley South would not be where she was today if he had stopped Ben Howard back then.

Ashley South had already been beaten to the point that she was unrecognizable with her face swollen and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.

She sat up with difficulty and straightened out her clothes, making sure that she was not exposing herself before wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth while maintaining her composure.

She spoke in a low voice to Arthur Quigg after that, “Thank you for willingly saving me.”

Willingly saving you? Could there still be people who were unwilling to save her?

Seeing Ashley South like this inexplicably tugged Arthur Quigg’s heartstrings such that even a grown man like him felt like crying.

“Ashley, are you alright? Should I send you to the hospital?”

“I’m fine, thank you.”

Ashley South stubbornly got to her feet, but she fell again as soon as she got up.

Arthur Quigg reached out to hold her and staggered as he did so.

“Ashley, wait for a while. Ben Howard is almost here.”

‘Ben Howard?’

Upon hearing this name, Ashley South seemed to be very agitated.

She stood once more. “I want to go home, I want to go home. I don’t want to see him.”

“Ashley—”

Arthur Quigg’s heart ached as he reached out to hold her stead once more.

Ashley South’s cell-phone suddenly rang and she picked up the call with trembling hands.

“Ordell, I-I-I want to go home.”

Ordell River, who had been waiting for her the entire night and made countless calls, rushed out the door without thinking as soon as he heard her voice.

“Wait for me, I’ll be right there. Don’t be afraid, don’t hang up.”

Ashley South’s hands and her entire body trembled.

The blood was flowing quickly in her body and her tongue felt dry.

She wanted a drink of water and to take her clothes off. It felt as though there were ants in her bloodstream consuming her fragile soul.

What was this reaction? She knew.

She was terrified and turned to ask Arthur Quigg.

“Arthur, I’ve been drugged. What should I do?”

Her lips trembled and her swollen face took on an unnatural blush.

Arthur Quigg was shocked and did not know how to respond.

He once more turned, ran to that fat man, and kicked him savagely a few times.

“B*stard, you drugged her. You drugged her.”

“M-mercy, I-I’m d-despicable.”

Ben Howard pushed open the door, and his tall and large silhouette ran towards Ashley South uncaringly.
