Mr. Holt, You Are My Ineffable Love

She lowered her gaze immediately and felt a huge bout of shame as if being caught red-handed.

She never shied away from her previous relationship, but the way her boss said it, plus being overheard by Quincy, she couldn’t help but feel guilty.

“That…that happened a long time ago,” Holly explained awkwardly, her tone bleak and solemn.

Quincy did not respond. He retracted his gaze and quietly stared at the large bowl of oden in front of him.

The atmosphere was dull and bleak.

Holly deeply regretted it. She regretted how she brought Quincy to dine at this place, and how she should have stayed away from Capital City University.

“Eat it, otherwise it will be cold, would you like a cup of fried yogurt?”

She wanted to ease the tension between the two, but Quincy only glanced at her lightly, picked up a spoon, ate one, then put it down.

“Unappetizing?”

This restaurant was frequently interviewed by the media, with many saying they serve the best oden in the country.

“It’s nauseating.”

He leaned softly on the chair, giving off a cold air of indifference.

Holly felt choked by his passive-aggression and did not persuade him further to eat.

This meal was her treat, who knew that it would end up like this. Now the only option is to leave and find another place.

She went to the cashier to pay. The owner felt ashamed and did not dare to look her in the eyes during the exchange.

“It’s okay, this meal is on us. I talked out of impulse earlier, please do not mind it. I didn’t expect you to be separated from the boy you were dating. Hey, that boy was pretty nice, good-looking, and very considerate toward you. I thought you two would get married,” the owner said softly, afraid of being overheard by Quincy.

Quincy stood in front of the restaurant’s wishing wall, his thoughts were not present at all.

Holly’s gaze remained unchanged, “I’m married, and it is my husband who is here today.”

The owner, taken aback, sighed and shook his head, “It’s a pity, I used to think highly about you and that boy before.?

Holly smiled. Thinking about it now, those days seemed so distant, as if it was an old tale that happened in the last century.

The owner insisted on not taking her money, so she gave up, and went to Quincy’s side.

Quincy fixed his gaze on a place where two wishing-notes were taped together with a small red heart on them.

— I love you, from here to the moon and back.

Inexplicably, he felt that his eyes had been stabbed. Perhaps the lights in the restaurant were too bright, which made his eyes uncomfortable.

Holly walked over and saw the pair of wishing-notes.

She froze in her steps, and there was a “buzzing” in her mind.

She seemed to have lost her voice and did not know what to say at that moment.

She opened her mouth but didn’t move. The light in her eyes gradually dimmed.
