Chapter 44 – There is hope for y*u yet!

“I was wrong about you,” Levi apologized very sincerely.

Then magnanimously added, “I forgive you for your transgressions. Actually, that from before…totally doesn’t count as a first kiss, so no need to worry. I won’t be eating you for lunch.”

The conversation partner, whom Levi was talking to as he waited for Noah to fetch the unicorn float from his room, was naturally, a dolphin: ‘if you are apologetic… please… just get off of my back already– No, wait, the recipient of the kiss wasn’t even me!!’ QAQ

Levi patted the indignant creature underneath him encouragingly. It was a great mount. Five stars rating!

Then he let out a content sigh and massaged his cheeks while out of his baby’s sight. Over the last hour, the upturned corners of his lips had never lowered back down; if he wasn’t smirking, then he was smiling. Naturally, his facial muscles, unused to smiling, had cramped.

For quite a while now, he had been using his own power to massage them so that he wouldn’t reveal a painful grimace and worry his baby. He didn’t want to ruin this absolutely perfect moment in what was, hands down, the best day of Levi’s life.

Even his excitable lower member that kept going up and down during the ride wasn’t enough to ruin his good mood. At first, he might have felt a bit on tenterhooks, but by the end of it, he had managed to reach a Zen state - no thoughts, just pure bliss with his baby in his arms.

As long as he wasn’t thinking about anything improper, his “pig teammate” wouldn’t give him trouble. Since he couldn’t control whether his thoughts were proper when it came to his darling, then he could only not think at all.

And just like that, he had spent more than an hour with his baby nestling in his arms. That, right there, was a whole bellyful of his darling’s tofu! An absolutely unrivaled delicacy that Levi would never get tired of eating. Ah, ah, his baby was so delicious that he had to be careful not to overeat and cause his own stomach to explode!

He would have eaten even more if it weren’t for his baby getting worried that the dolphins were getting tired from “playing”. Thus now, his darling intended to switch mounts, from a dolphin to a cute white unicorn.

Again, riding something that wasn’t him, Levi!

Well, at least this time it was an inanimate object. He, Levi, didn’t have brain damage, why would he even feel envious of an inanimate object?

Blackie: ‘Oh, so you wouldn’t mind an inanimate object going up your darling’s behind?’ (¬‿¬)

Levi: (≖ ‸ ≖) ‘…I see what you did there.’

Noah found this big brother-in-law of his surprisingly yet adorably childish. After Noah came back with the unicorn, the man very smugly showed off his prowess at blow–…inflating the float. Then he kept peeking at Noah like a kid expecting to be praised for his good performance.

In the end, Noah gave in and praised his blo–…inflating skills to the skies, and the man simply glowed with pride. His chest puffed up, his ears flushed pink, and his lips twitched with how hard he was trying not to smile.

Blackie: ‘Nope, it’s just cramping again.’ (¬‿¬)

And what Noah predicted would happen, indeed happened – this outwardly solemn, inwardly fluffy brother-in-law wanted to ride the unicorn.

Heh, really cute.

The dolphins were very cute too. They got really confused by the unicorn float. Must have thought it was a new kind of sea creature. They kept nudging it with their noses and eying it strangely.

“You can ride it first, brother,” Noah very generously handed the metaphorical reins of the unicorn along with its virgin ride.

Corners of Levi’s mouth twitched again, “That… won’t do. Together.” Why would he want to ride a unicorn float if he wasn’t riding it with his darling???

Noah tilted his head in confusion. He could understand his brother-in-law being too nervous to ride a dolphin alone, but how could he possibly be too nervous to ride a float?

“It’s no fun if one rides and other waits,” Levi tried his best to sell his idea.

Noticing that Noah was just about to say he didn’t mind, Levi interrupted him, “I mind.”

Noah scratched his light brown hair and didn’t know what to say. A grown man riding the unicorn was embarrassing enough, two of them riding it together…

Seeing how his baby was wavering, Levi employed his killer weapon. He furrowed his eyebrows looking very much at a loss, “You… don’t want to ride together?”

How could Noah continue to reject the idea when his brother-in-law looked like an abandoned puppy?!

So be it. It was just riding a unicorn together. No big deal. Even if their picture ended up in tomorrow’s gossip magazine, they could laugh about it together. ಥ‿ಥ

And thus, Levi once again got to have his baby in his arms.

Noah…

…looked at him strangely, ‘Bro… I understand you clinging to me while we were riding a dolphin… but why would you need to cling to me while riding a float??’

“Blackie…”

“Yeah?”

“Do you think this good brother of mine is being a bit…”

“A bit?”

“…a bit too sticky?”

‘Ah, so you do have a brain after all! There is hope for you yet!’ was what Blackie thought, but what he said, and very confidently at that, was: “No.”

“No?” Noah was now getting rather confused. Blackie didn’t sound sarcastic, so, was it just his imagination, then?

“I’m sure he has a very good reason for wanting to hold onto you,” Blackie reassured, ‘Hey, I’m not lying. He does have a very good reason – because he is totally in love with you. What better reason than love, eh?’

Noah was enlightened, “You are right!” His brother-in-law might sometimes do strange things, but it always turned out that he had a very solid logic behind it. He, Noah, must be missing something, and that’s why he couldn’t understand what his brother-in-law was thinking.

Just at that moment, the unicorn float started to move all on its own, surfing alongside dolphins.

Noah’s eyes lit up brilliantly in delight, ‘So that’s why!’

His brother-in-law had intended to use his power to make the float move!

He wasn’t being sticky! Noah was holding onto the neck of the float, but Levi had nothing to hold on to but Noah! If he didn’t hold on to Noah, he would fall off!

Blackie: (⊙ˍ⊙) ‘…Holy shit, you are really good at making up excuses for that pervert!!! …I …I

‘… should take notes!’ (✧◡✧)

And just like that, Levi got another hour of riding with his baby practically sitting in his lap.

He even got to showcase his super awesome Enforcer skills by winning in a race against dolphins.

He felt as if his heart would explode from how much it swelled up when his baby looked at him with admiration!

There was absolutely nothing that could ruin the perfection of today!

“I think sister should be up by now, let’s call her over to join us!”

Levi: ‘…I stand corrected.’ ○|￣|_
