MasukAugust 24thJordan's POV
It's been almost six months since I was released from the hospital. Dad's been doing better, recovery hasn't been easy but with Jordan and I helping he's avoided drinking, he's even going to meetings in the city. Being sober allowed him to actually attend my graduation in June, something I never thought would happen. The Stom family came too to support me, as did Mr. Marsh and Jordan's parents came for both of us.
I wake up and smell food. Chicken I think. Looking around it isn't coming from my room, but there is someone asleep in the chair by my bed.I attempt to sit up, even though it hurts. Looking closely and waiting for my vision to clear out of its groggy fog, I recognize the dark hair and tall build that is slumped in the chair.
Everything is warm and bright. I don't feel like I can open my eyes it's so bright. Lifting my hands I try to shade myself to see but nothing.I turn quickly at the sound of footsteps, "Hello?" I yell out, "Who's there? I... I can't see!"
Jordan's POV"Jordan, please pick up. Please. I'm scared, it's getting so much worse. Please answer your phone... Please, I need you... Please... Please..."
I've been hiding in my truck for over three hours. Pulling into my driveway I got scared that maybe dad did run out of stuff to drink, which usually is the best time to be away from the house. I'm in the middle of town just driving to avoid going home, but all I can think about is what happened at Dominic's house. Every second I'm not home, is a second I feel more disgusting and need to curl up in bed more, yet every time I try to go home, I get scared and chicken out.
