TRAUMATISED BY DARKNESS

"Mom! Thank you sooo much.....You are the best mom in the world. I can't believe thst I am going to sit in the flight for the first time. Maria said hugging her mom tightly."Please...take care....my baby.... I still don't like the idea of you going alone."Maria kissed her mother's cheek and said, "That is because you still think of me as a baby. Come on mom look at me, I am officially  an adult.""You just turned 18 the last week, Maria. The world is not as good as it appears. Take care of yourself. Remember to be alertat all times.Maria didn't pay much heed to her mother's advice and hummed a tune as she moved further in the check in line. She was used to her mother's incessant fussing. Little did she know that this was going to be the biggest mistake of her life. It would shatter her, deprave her of her soul and leave her with such scars that can never be erased, no matter what!The airhostess greeted her with a bright smile

Her body burnt with fever. She slipped in and out of consciousness. She was vaguely aware of her surroundings. She was lying on a bed. She shivered with cold as no one had bothered to make her wear clothes or cover her. She was lying in a similar manner for the past three days. Ocasionally someone would come and give her injections. She remembered this vividly as the needle was always inserted into her breast rather than her arms. The intense pain always brought her out of unconsciousness. he first time she lashed and screamed but in return they pulled at her nipple ring so harshly that it drew blood. Aftre that she learnt to stay still. She knew that they would leave soon if she pretended to be unconsciousness. They didnt seem interested in playing with a corpse.Today was the fourth day in the room. She felt slightly better and her fever had broken. She opened her eyes and took in the room. It was bare except for a wardrobe and a bed.
