A Day In The City

He entered the room full of tutor to help him learn the language and began learning, while in the middle of learning, footsteps could be heard and coming closer and closer.

Elise hasn't realized the tutor came to the house and entered the room, she asks in Arden's language taught by Usha himself and confused why are they many people.

"Who are they?" She asked with the confused face.

"Tutor, The Shogun sent me these people to help me learn," He answered before getting swarmed and start the lesson.

"I can teach you, why didn't you ask me," She made her statement.

He stared at her right into the eyes and made a confused face; he thought that Elise can't speak the language; he was wrong.

Usha taught her both languages knowing she needed it in the future but what's done is done, the tutors have come and Arden will learn from them.

Elise proceeds to go to the kitchen and began making tea for them, and Arden kept learning. He thought of something about the learning speed.

"With these many people teaching me, surely it would be fast" He smirked a bit.

He was wrong, it's not easy, the tongue is different making him hard to speak whatever word he was taught, but he kept trying until he succeeded.

His sister came from the kitchen in the middle of his lesson and pour the tea to everybody and proceed to relax. Some of them thought Elise was Arden's maid and asked Arden.

He just tells them that he is her sister. Fortunately, no one tried to molest her earlier, they proceed to continue the lesson and finished in the afternoon.

He learned much from them and could speak a simple sentence like thank you, no problem, sorry and more. Sitting too much hurt his back, so he proceeds to do some simple exercise at the yard.

There he saw maverick, he trained there from day to night so he greeted him while Maverick was distracted.

"Hello!" Arden said while watching Maverick train his swordsmanship.

"Hello, sir!" Maverick glanced at him and proceed to greet him.

Arden gets to a position about 10 metres from Maverick and started his exercise while avoiding getting hit by Maverick's sword.

For some reason, Usha's house became his place, well… his sister's place and he could use it however he liked.

He does his exercise until almost night and decided it's enough for the day. Then he saw 6 of his friend making their way to the house before seeing Arden at the yard.

They greet him and he gestured them to follow him and enter the house. They followed him to enter the house and sat at the guest room.

Arden his self proceeds to go to his room and clean his self and change his clothes. After that, he came to the guest room and ask them.

"What brought you here, gentlemen?" speaking their language as best as he could.

"Your speaking skill improved greatly!" Katsumoto said, shocked hearing him talking in their language better than before.

"We want to go eat ramen, you want to follow us?" Yosai told Arden hoping he would come.

"Sure, but can I bring my sister and the little kid(maverick)?" He answered yes but wanted to bring her sister. He is still afraid of the yakuza, what would happen if they burn the house while he was gone?

"Sure!" They responded smiling and began making their way out of the house when everybody is ready.

Arden brought his sword with him just in case and Maverick does the same. They proceed to the ramen place yesterday and ordered.

Inside the ramen bowl, there is the noodle, kelp, tuna flakes, dried baby sardines, beef, pork and more. Basically, it's delicious for him and the others.

They ate with a big appetite and finished their bowl in a matter of minutes. Some of them even go for the second bowl.

Arden wanted to pay, but he still has no knowledge about the currency being used there whatsoever. So he asked them.

"What's the currency here?" He asked with curiosity in his eyes.

"The currency here is mon" Katsumoto answered him and proceed to eat his ramen.

Arden proceeds to eat his ramen while thinking about mon, maybe he should ask this to Mitsuo when he met him next time.

They part way at the ramen shop, the 6 of them went to their home earlier than Arden and his group. Arden, Maverick and Elise make their way to their home when they had finished eating like 5 minutes after they had left.

Once they got out of the ramen shop, the same thing happened, men started coming from the corner of the street started surrounding them. Now their number has greatly decreased.

There are only 10 of them and most of them used Katana, only a single person used the bamboo yari. They are the high ranking in the yakuza and wanted revenge.

Arden and Maverick unsheathed their sword and protect Elise from both sides like they protected Usha. They made the fighting stance, but… before the yakuza could even attack.

Arden saw his 6 friends coming back to the ramen shop. Seeing this, all the yakuza scatter. When Arden asks the reason, they came back.

Apparently Nobuhisa left something and ask the rest of the group to accompany him and get that thing back.

Once Nobuhisa got his thing back, they decided to escort Arden to the house to ensure his safety And Arden, Maverick and Elise made it back home safely.

Arden got to his room and proceed to go to sleep, at the same time as the last night, Mitsuo visited him in black clothes like a ninja, they talked and talked. And Arden asked about currency.

"Mitsuo, how much is this compared to mon?" Arden took out an Auren and gave it to Mitsuo.

Arden heard footsteps coming closer, it can't be Maverick or Elise, it would be an assassin sent by the yakuza, Mitsuo almost opened his mouth to answer the question before getting cut off by Arden.

Arden gestured that someone is coming and Mitsuo proceed to climb to the ceiling and hide there, Arden was surprised but knowing this, he could set a trap.

He took his sword as fast as possible and hug it so the person coming couldn't see it. He heard the door being opened slowly and the footsteps coming close and closer.

He heard the sword being unsheathe and wait for 2 seconds before turning and blocking the attack, perfect timing. The assassin is surprised and then….

Mitsuo dropped from the ceiling and stabbed the assassin in the head with his short knife. The knife went through his skull and into his brain.

He dropped dead and blood squirted from the back of his head to the door wall and to Mitsuo. And Mitsuo talks to Arden a bit more before leaving. He said he will assign some trustworthy guard to protect the house and Arden said thank you.

Mitsuo also told Arden that 1 Auron would probably be 100 mon, with 5 mon, he could buy a bowl of ramen. But now, he needs to think about what to do to the body.

Arden got up from his bed and go to Maverick's bedroom and wake him up, Maverick was panicking at first, he thought there are enemies coming and Arden never woke him up before.

Arden explained the situation to him and tell him to help him get a place for the dead body, Maverick thought to his self before suggesting to get the body to the guards and tell them what happened.

Arden agreed, and they covered the wound on the back of his head in order not to get blood everywhere. After that, Arden carried the body with Maverick and make their way out of the house.

Then, Elise suddenly got woken up and make her way out of her room, she opened the door and saw 2 men carrying a body.

The place was very dark, there is no light at the hallway and Elise thought the body was Arden so she closed the door.

And block it with whatever she could find there, the room was connected to another room without a door and there is Usha's Katana sword there, Elise took one of the Katana and waited.

She waited for the 2 people to come. The door started getting banged and not long after; they breached the door. She swung the Katana to the person and got blocked.

As he glanced at the person blocking her, she realizes that it was Arden himself and he tried to calm her down. She calmed down not long after that and realize she panicked for nothing.

Arden explained the situation and continue with what he is doing, Maverick was waiting for him all this time along and they continued.

They carried the body, some people saw them and freaked out but when Arden explained what happened earlier, they understood and just go on with life.

After some time of walking and finding their way to the guard, one of the guards saw them and asked them what they were doing.

They explained it to him and he checked the body. His face showed "As I expected". The body covered in tattoos.

"Indeed, he is from the yakuza" After saying this, he gestures both of them to help him bring the body to his post.

They helped him and make their way back to the house after that and Arden goes back to his sleep. The next morning, Arden decided to do something before the tutors come at noon.

He decided to exchange some Aurens to mons and left the house at 9 in the morning. He knew what he was going to do, but didn't know the place to do it what so ever.

He asked the local, and they didn't know the place as well, the only people that know about it is probably Mitsuo so he began making his way to the castle.

The guard recognized him from 4 days ago and directed him to a room and send a message to The Shogun, Arden waited and waited.

10 minutes pass by and a maid came to him and poured tea for him. Another ten minutes pass by and Mitsuo entered the room.

Arden asked about it and Mitsuo answered the question as best as he could, he then asked where to change the money and Mitsuo answered to just exchange it to him.

So Arden gave him 20 Aurens and got 2000 Mons, they talked some more and Arden left the castle 30 minutes later.

It's 10 in the morning and there are still 2 hours before the tutors come to his house, so he decided to take a walk. He saw a blacksmith and got interested, so he goes into the blacksmith.
