People didn't know that he is a powerful noble and he would get even at the one who harm him or his family at the perfect time.
After receiving 30 whips while clenching his fist in the entire process, they brought him to the dungeon once more.
But this time, it's the dungeon at the lower part of the town, worse than the dungeon before. Filled with criminals that did an unforgivable crime, or so he thought.
Covered in sand, tears, blood, sweat, he is put into a cell. There is a person inside the cell that's beside Arden's cell.
He called Arden from his cell and had his back against the wall. Then have some conversation with Arden. Eventually, they got along pretty quickly.
"What is your job kid?" He asked, judging by his sound, he is a little curious about some new criminal's background.
"I'm a baron, but they didn't believe me, I believe my wife will soon send a letter to Aswick, Rakham and Valencio," Arden then smiled, knowing he will be free soon.
"You mean that 3 famous people that ruled the west, north and south province? Awesome, why are you here though?" The old man is surprised, and then asked still a little bit of curiosity in his voice.
"Someone framed me," Arden sighed, the person answered with an "Oh" and start telling the reason he is here.
"I'm a gang leader and there is a gang war once, somehow my enemy got some connection with the judge. They set up a trap for me once telling me that the judge is calling me on behalf of this matter, it has been close to 3 years here I think. Every day I got 15 whips because of that. I will have my revenge, they just need to wait" Arden listened to everything he said and at the end, both of them just sighed.
Arden learnt that the people at this place are mostly because of the unfairness of the judge that made them stayed.
If there is a real criminal but they have some connection with this judge or some power in the city, they would get like 1 day here.
After asking some conclusion, Arden made a conclusion. The people here that are locked up because of the corrupt judge would get 10-40 whips.
But on the first day, Arden got close to 50 Whips, his body is actually covered in blood. After that, the guard didn't even give him food.
Some other people would share their food though, the person inside the cell beside him even offer him all his food once.
Arden politely declines since he knew that person would need to eat first. This continued on for some time.
His patience is almost gone, to the point he almost decided to commit suicide by stabbing himself with a guard's sword next time.
But Arden looks back at his wife, his people and just waited and waited in fear, he made an oath that he will make their life worse than him at this point.
It's almost a month or so and once again, the dungeon door opened, he quickly makes a defensive posture on the ground.
He put his head down and didn't dare to look up, then he heard his self being opened and 1… no, 3 people walked up to him.
He heard their familiar voice, aid has come to him, all the 3 dukes are here. They helped Arden stand up.
Which he couldn't at first, but in tears and effort, his red clothes too, he managed to do it. They slowly helped Arden to walk to the room.
He would be getting treatment and rest on the bed. Get food and other things. Anything he wants would be given to him.
Many kinds of people visited him, not once, not twice, but daily. A group visit, there are the 3 dukes, Goswind, all the nobles he led at war visited him at once.
Valen, Maverick and Austin took care of him, never left him unguarded and always at his side when he needed something.
He knew the three of them to have something to do with this, so he thanked them for everything and they said it's nothing.
"It's not a problem, you are more important" Arden smiled happily after hearing this.
Then he caught word of rumours, the king has personally come here because he heard a war hero basically getting f**ked up by someone that never left their hometown before.
It's almost 1 week at the bed and he is actually pretty good, even though he still got some nightmares from that place.
One day, he is called to keep talking about those people who did harm there. So him in the best clothes, he has right now, went to the keep.
He saw the tension from others. The king himself sat on the throne and the other four dukes standing along the side of it.
"Today, we will discuss how to punish someone that threatens the life of a war hero, an honourable knight that saved us from the recent war and then got treated like a trash by someone that they are the king," the corrupt judge face is as white as a dead person.
"From my point of view, the judge should be fired from his position and then treated like the hero treated when he is framed, everyone agrees?" Everyone shouted "yes"
"No, I think he deserves worse treatment with his associate, there is more case like mine at the dungeon" He shrugged his shoulder and the king just nodded.
"Looks like his crime can't be forgiven, I sentence him to scaphism." Everyone looked at the king shocked, the worst kind of torture one wanted to get if he did some crime.
The people that got this kind of torture would trap the person getting it in 2 boats and pour honey to his/her body and let the insect fester him/her.
The judge and the person that framed Arden turned pale to the point you can only see white at their face.
They tried to say that Arden is the one who started it first, but he didn't give any sh*t to them. Off to torture they go.
They got to a river in the middle of the forest and then watch as 2 people forced to get inside a boat that trapped their body.
And then they pour the honey. Instantly, many types of insects came to fester them and they scream and scream.
It's horrible seeing someone being festered by insects and they can't do anything about it.
By the time the boat came back to the starting point, they are covered in blood and tears, still screaming since the sting lasted.
They got out from the boat and put into the cage, then to the dungeon. They will do this thing for a full month.
And then serve at the dungeon until the end of their life. This is fair considering what they have done to innocents.
All the judge's associate got captured and punished, the dungeon guar, the whipper, the dungeon guard, pretty much everyone involved with his crime and did nothing to it.
All the innocent pretty much got released, including that man, that man actually visited Arden when he was resting on his bed.
That person name is Sam, he is 70 years old but still healthy and strong, he thanked Arden and said he would like to move all his former gang member and himself to Arden's town if he allows, why not?
Arden got to rest and hi journey actually got delayed for many days because of this incident. One day, Arden is called to the keep by the king.
He got to the keep as fast as possible and saw there are all the duke and the king there. The king, like normal occasion, is sitting at the throne.
As soon as Arden walks into the keep, he opened his mouth, indicating he is going to talk.
"Baron of Aselwey, I heard you are on a journey to find your siblings, for that, I give you good luck. This is the first time in history that all the 4 dukes met each other just for one person. You are important to this kingdom, please don't danger yourself, because of this incident. I order you to use your banner on your shirt" Then he called a person to give Arden the banner.
When he opened it, it's almost the same design of the one he has, a gold dragon on the white background. But there are 5 initials, the initials refer to the king and all the dukes that took care of the province.
"Thank you, your majesty," He said then knelt and bow at the same time, holding his new banner at his chest.
In the end, Arden decided not to waste time anymore and go to Tadashima Shogunate as fast as he could.
The very next morning, he, Valen, Maverick and Austin decided to leave the city. After some few goodbyes, they continue their delayed journey.
1 Month and 1 week and 3 days in this city are wasted because of this incident. Arden just looked back and gave a light smile as he became further and further from the city.
Now, they would continue their journey to the Port Town of Gillam
