The Start Of Adventure And A Squire

After Arden did his work, he finally came back to his sleep in the night. Wanted to see what happen next.

Like normally, he would come back to the place he was before. And he could see the person coming from the distance.

'That person looks too tall as a human standing, perhaps he is on the horse?' He examines that man in the distance.

Then that person got closer and closer, it's clear to see that he is riding a horse, but he isn't alone.

Behind him, the row of people in chains followed him, the look like strong people and seems quite healthy and well-fed.

'Maybe a slave trader?' He thought of the possibility, it's not rare in the past to be a slave trader. Now, there is only a few kingdoms and countries that used slave.

He approached the group of 3 kids, Arden and his siblings. He stopped his horse as the dust starts coming down after being kicked to the air by his horse.

He got off his horse and proceed to talk to Arden's brother, the oldest there. At the age of 8, his brother already knew how to take care of his other siblings.

"Hello, little boy" The slave trader talked to him with a big smile on his face.

"Hello, What can I help you with" With all his courage he had gathered, he responded to the person.

"I'm Usha, would you like to follow me?" Some words come out from his mouth.

"Could I bring my sibling?" Arden's brother asked, and the person said yes.

"Arden and .... (Arden's sister name), let's go" His brother turned and said this to his siblings with a smile indicating him being happy. But then...

"You could only bring one of your siblings, I'm sorry, but I don't have enough food for the other one." The slave traders said this to Arden's brother and his expression changed from happy.

"I will stay behind, let my younger siblings go with you" Unwilling to say this at first but he thought about his siblings and decided to let them have the better future.

"I'm really sorry boy, we will be going now" Usha proceed to mount his horse and let Arden's sister get on the horse with him.

'This slave trader is different from the other, not only did he is good to his slaves but also to the other!!' This is the only thing that is inside Arden's mind.

But then, he saw the expression on his brother's face, turning back to the old house and cried.

For some reason, Arden starts having the urge to cry too and tried to hold the tears at bay. Not long until the tears start coming out.

His 5 years old self back then didn't know anything back then. But now, he could see it as an adult— all the things that happened.

But then, the shake of his wife's hands start shaking his body. Calling him back to the real world, this would probably be the last time the dream happened.

'I have a hint, I need to search for the person that bought me. He should be still at Atlan. Alive or not, it's a good idea to search there' He thought about this and then got ready for making preparations.

Arden knew he must bring these list of important things to bring, it should be food, money, mount.

He would need to go to the kitchen, stable and the treasury. So he decided to go to the kitchen first.

While the way to there, many people greeted him but with a confused face. He opened the door that separate the hall and the kitchen room.

Many are shocked, the people inside start getting confused and showed fear. But he just proceeds to meet the head cook.

Before even he could say anything, the head cook approaches him and with the fear on his face.

"Ye... yes sir? Is there anything you didn't like? I would fix it as soon as possible" With all his courage, the head cook says to him, clearly showing him trembling and his voice is shaking.

"No no, there is nothing wrong. I just want you to prepare the meal that I needed for my journey" Arden responded but still confused about what happened.

The head cooks quickly calmed down and start preparing that food. Others relieved too and start doing the thing they told to.

'Maybe they thought there is something wrong? So they feared me?' This is the conclusion Arden made.

He then proceeds to give his gratitude and say goodbye while exiting the kitchen And proceeds to the stable.

Everything went well, The person on the stable greeted him with a smile and ask what does he need help.

The journey to the treasury also went to the north instead of the south. At the treasury, there is about 500 aurens ready, but he only brought 100 Aurens with him, everything is ready now.

Just need to see the date where he would start and then some more thing. After some calculations, he set the date to January, 13rd 553 Which is 2 days from now.

Times flies at a very fast speed, 2 days have passed and it's the day where they start their journey.

The glorious knights on the battlefield and his 2 months pregnant lady are starting their journey.

At the 2 days time, they made more preparations and Arden decided to bring his armour and his sword. What could probably go wrong?

They would need to go to Atlan and search for the person that bought Arden as a slave and eventually let him go and live on his own after only 2 years serving his owner.

He doesn't expect it to be easy, but at least he expected it to be done. Since he is already familiar with the roads and area in the central part of the kingdom.

It's considered as easy at first, but what if he needs to go to another kingdom? that wouldn't be easy.

"Let's go, Valen!!" He turned to his wife and spoke to her with a smile on his face. And so, they began their journey.

3 days long journey to Atlan should be easy. After three days, they eventually reached Atlan.

They searched for that person, which Arden only remember his name, Theo. As best as he could, Arden tried to find his way to Theo's house and eventually found one that he remembered.

He knocked on the door and saw a boy opened the door in front of him, probably close to the age of 14

"Hello little boy, could you call out your father?" With a smile on his face, Arden asked this to the little boy.

"Of course" that boy responded with an energetic tone and proceeds to go inside.

Not a minuter of waiting, a person opened the door, being in his late 40s. Arden quickly recognizes this person as Theo and quickly said hello.

"Who are you?" Theo is a little bit confused and asked Arden. To which Arden responded with...

"It's been a long time since we last met sir, I'm Arden" He introduced himself.

"Woah, last time we met you are a little boy" With a shocked expression and voice, Theo said this.

Then he proceeds to let Arden and his wife inside and sat them at a couch. Then he brings some tea to drink and opened the conversation with.

"What makes you come and meet me here?" With a curious expression, he said this and take a sip from his cup.

"You remember when you bought me from that slave trader?" Arden asked this with the serious expression and proceeds to take a sip from his cup of tea.

"Yes, I bought you from Usha" Theo responded with the sentence.

"Actually, I have a sister, I wonder where is she now and searching for her right now. But I need your help." Arden told Theo his story and Theo just nodded indicating he understood the situation.

"Usha, last time I heard about his is him being in another kingdom called Tadashima Shogunate. He lived there with his wife and now is retired" Theo let out all the things he knows to Arden.

Arden was about to say goodbye and leave but Theo said something.

"Arden, could you help me? I want to make my son as a knight, can you make him as your squire?" His voice clearly shows that Theo is speaking the truth.

"He is too young to become a squire but he could be my page though. But this journey would be dangerous so I don't expect you to let him do that" Arden raised one of his eyebrows as a sign of confusion.

"I know, but I want to let him see the world and I already hear about your achievement. I would be very grateful" Arden just thought about it and then agreed and Theo is very happy about this.

Remembering all the thing Theo did to Arden, this is only a small matter. When Theo is being Arden's owner, Arden is being treated as his own child.

After Arden is let go and start his own career at 7 years old, Theo gave him some money to live.

'Such a good man' The only thing that Arden can muster at his mind.

Arden ended up spending the night there and being accommodated by Theo. At the morning, Arden, Valen And Theo's son would start their journey to find a way to go to this kingdom called "Tadashima Shogunate".
