LOGINDamon stood holding on to his vibrant while watching the belua appearing on the side of the waist-high water. On the ruins were snipers ready to take out the 12m belua leaning on the side. Humanoid Beluas have been appearing ever since once has been appearing on the side
Outriders were cleaning the wetlands. However, the records recently changed when someone took down a humanoid belua.
A heavy calibre rifle broke the sound barrier. Damon trudged through the wetland marsh while squinting his eyes at the rain. The rest of his squad rushed the belua.
"Hit the head!" One said. Damon slung his rifle and shot a magazine on the Belua's body. The belua screamed. One of the people he was with blocked the blow of the belua. Another one shot a grappler stake at the limbs of the belua, preventing movement from the belua.
Damon slung his rifle on his back. He sheathed his vibrant and slashed at the knees of the belua. Taking steps back he switched with the woman in her squad, named Mei as she landed a killing blow on the heart of the belua.
Her etherian aura twisted the rain and air before decapitating the Belua's defenseless neck with a flick of her vibrant blade.
Damon stopped himself. He sheathed his vibrant blade. His eyes focused on the 6m belua going their way. He took out his rifle and fired shots on the direction of the belua, forcing the other squads to rain bullet fire on the belua. The belua went down face-first on the wetland marsh. The drones hooked the belua as the crawlers moved in. They dragged them inside the transport crawlers with caterpillar tracks. The moving fortresses were part of the recon division of Aured. Damon moved out of the wetlands while grappling on top of the crawlers. He hated the marshes. The swamps that formed after many years of abandoned had been expanding. It cannot be helped when the packs of belua has been expanding their territories.
"Damon," Mei called. Damon reached out his hand to pull Mei onboard of the crawler. Above them was the fliers avoiding the predators lurking the sky.
"Looks like they've been working hard," Ralf said, standing next to Damon. "Do you think they'll give us ammunition?"
"They will," Ares said, letting the anti-belua rifle on her shoulder slide on her back. "How are your ether levels? Keeping them stable?"
Damon nodded. "It took the four of us to bring down that belua."
"Damn," Ralf shook his head. "I know that you're still hung on that event, but I know what you feel."
The Ambrosia of the Cosmos blessed the Etherians, that what they say in every book and databank that Ralf could find. Stronger bodies, tougher sinews, and the ability to manifest powers meant for them only. They are the new humans. The ones blessed with the ether of the world.
Damon had ability to strengthen his body past the human limit and regenerate his body. He charge his swings and explosive power could come through it. It is a versatile power that relied on the physical body. Mei had the power to rely on her ability to increase frequency of her body and within her touch. Her vibrant blade was the deadliest there was and through her powers, she could conjure fire as well using her high frequency.
Ralf was a hawkeyed man who could fire energy bullets using his rifle and can form weapons from his own ether as well. Ares has the unique ability of manipulating the element around her to form the same conjuration as Ralf. They were a pair that had worked longer than Mei and Damon.
Confidence was something that they had. They have worked together in many missions, and have proven their mettle as Outriders. They believed that etherians were simply not equal to the humans who had to take enhancements. To kill an etherian needs an effort and only a few could do it. The people fear Etherians and thus they always handed to the hands of the military to be train and disciplined. People feared what they do not understand and thus there were discriminations, but labelling them, as soldiers would lessen some of that fear.
Those who evade military training usually ended up becoming soldiers as well. They are Fighters who uses their superior talents to hunt down the belua. The ether-eaters were the bane of humanity.
Damon was confident he could a fight the belua, even the taller and stronger ones as long as they fight together, but their arrogance almost caused them deaths.
It resulted into them finding themselves in a pack of belua, and like beaten dogs. They ran away and then met that monster who carried a cutter sword with him.
He had the abilities of a human who reached the peak of his physique, but he was able to fight a whole pack of belua with merely a cutter sword, a grappler stake, and bare hands. Despite their etherian nature they were not able to do anything other than be save by someone who did not have a tinge of ether on his skin.
They knew him. Everyone in Sanctum knew of that Outrider who was always alone. He had disappeared from Sanctum for days and yet that scene stayed in their minds.
If he continued on their mindset, Damon wondered if there were a day, he would fall because of it. Damon hated confronting this truth, and yet he could do nothing other than accept it. The four of them could only accept that they were still nothing.
They might be Etherians, but they did not harbor such petty thoughts. Not in this kind of world that was not kind. Outside of the walls of Aured City are enemies that have invaded their lands.
That is why Damon could not do anything other than accept what it was for it. That is why he was here in this crawler with the others. To get stronger he must gather experience. Moreover, what is the best way to get one other than join the Recon Corps of Aured City?
The orbs of light hanging on the circular tower not far from where he was lighted Jakob's face. The veil of rain splits the lights. On the community, there was a group of people opening the hatches so that the floodwater whirls down the drain. From the second-floors of the buildings, there were men and women dressed in thick gray clothing.Jakob rested his back on the bench. He looked up. The flyers of Aured City numbered about hundreds a day. The city consumed fuel than any of the bastion cities. He had been ignorant of the world. Jakob did not have to know about the city. All he knows back then was how to survive a day outside of the city.Jakob clenched his fist. He had done something to change something. He did not know what it was that made things turned out this way, but he could not understand the empty feeling. The feelings he had while in battle were like momentary and fleeting."I really cannot do it," Jakob said. The rainwater was like spray hitting h
Jakob stood behind Helga. She wore a sharp business suit with a red tie. She had gloved her hands and tied her hair into a ponytail. She spoke to a man armed to the teeth. Though he looked intimidating, Helga did not show any stiffness or being overwhelmed. How could he, when Jakob was standing behind her with such an expression? The two talked for minutes. Helga shook the armored hand of the man and started strutting to the pad. The Karnifex was on the landing pad. Helga stood. She took out a cigarette from her pocket, lighting it up. She looked up at the Aured Sky."Just a drizzle of rain," Helga said.Jakob folded his armored arms. Helga snickered."You are getting used to that suit.""Hard to take it off when it seems like you are making use of me too much.""Can't help it, you are a good at what you do. Also, the Boss wants to personally make sure that my safety is secured."Jakob surveyed the area. The personnel from the buildin
Dona liked to mix drinks. She had become a better mixer than ever. It seems she had a natural talent. Helga had praised her drink, and when Jakob comes home, she would give him a stiff one that would ease his muscles. They had not done it for a long time, though she did not mind it. He was always full of thoughts and his mind would wander. Not that it matters to her as long as he comes home safe from his missions. He had become one of the terrifying people that Haven knew after his recent works, which made him quite an important person. Just by association, they treated her with respect. Dona knows she was riding on his coattails. It did not bother her that there are those who would call her hurtful words.Jakob was not someone who was a restricting person. For someone who started the relationship with cash, he was someone who did not bother too much about it. He was not a wasteful man. He was thrifty, and he liked to eat nutritional food with fondness. He acts like an
The event definitely took the attention of the people to the fields of Gharasu. The discovery of the cattle-human, and the appearance of the beluaman showed the world who the true enemy was again. They discovered the steelfort project hidden from Humanity. Leaders gathered to address the issue regarding the Project.Commander Stan Blackwells, accompanied by Anastasia and Karl arrived in the conference of leaders. Karl, the holder of the access key to the satellites around the world announced that he is siding with the Commander of Recon Korp. The move alongside the appearance of Commander Blackwell, supported by both human and etherian made the Leaders accept Commander Blackwells' status as one of the protectors of Aured City.As for where Sanctum and Haven stands in the issue, they answered by showing their neutrality in the matter. The first request that Karl made was to take back Gharasu and the steelfort. The government moved to prove that they are accommodating. T
[System switching to backup power][Warning][Exceeding below the fifty-percent damage threshold][Activating life support systems][Warning][Deactivating heads-up display][Exhausting heat][Warning]Jakob swings the greatsword at the beluaman. The beluaman raises the ground, forcing Jakob to use the grappler stake to swing around the beluaman's attack, using the momentum created by the weight of the greatsword to hasten the swing. He turns around to smash the greatsword down on a 15m belua."Still alive, J," Helga called, "you are making Dona worry.""Got to buy time, Hel," Jakob flattened the greatsword to block a root spire. He grappled on the 15m belua, threw the greatsword, caught it, and pummeled a belua pouncing at him. Landing on top of a belua, he stabbed the greatsword's tip."Your suit is a mess," Helga said, "the amount of repairs it'll need is going to cost you. Nonetheless, the ether forge,
Her opinion towards humans were low. Anastasia will not work with these humans if she had the chance to do so. Blackwells changed her opinions of them. This time she had to admit. Humans were not as inferior as she thought. Their technology were keeping them alive. Even their medicine and drugs have started evolving. The suit this Outrider was wearing and the ability to lift her Blackwell's sword was enough to indicate.Still, it was odd in a sense that she did not see the usual side effects. He did not even take the usual syringes that one would take. Her and her Blackwells have been part of the many meetings and experiments. They share the burden of turning their fellow etherians into good soldiers. Therefore, she did not recognize any signs of modification other than the well-made exosuit. Deep in the swamp, hit by the rain, and surrounded. Anastasia kept her calm while pulling her Blackwells away. Blackwells conserved his energy. His eyes lacked light. There is an
