"Crystal!"

Harry couldn't seem to shake off a venerable feeling-it jumped at him every time he thought back to Tony.

"Crystal!"

He had no logical explanation for his unease; in fact, he had no justification for it. Tony had done nothing wrong. He scoffed and stood back, re-evaluating his thoughts. He turned from the door and murmured under his breath.

"Shit." He flustered. He bit his lip in frustration, he then clenched his fist and released it as soon as he looked up.

There it was; the object of his fury-standing poker-faced and iridescent to its surroundings. Its mouth fully open, like a void that sucked his valour dry. His eyes stung and a wave of unbridled anger erupted within him.

"What do you want!"

As if in reply a soft-spoken voice from behind him exclaimed.

"Harry?"

He turned to stare Crystal in the eyes. Her skin was as fare as the day he met her and her eyes didn't lose their fire. He was relieved and confused. The quick-burning anger rose again as he noticed the figure standing behind her.

"Tony?"He asked.

He quickly looked back, panic-stricken he brushed a hand through his hair. The figure disappeared like a phantom to only leave him perplexed.

He flinched as an object placed itself on his shoulder. Looking to his right he noticed Tony, worried and compassionate.

"Harry are you alright?"

He shook his head. "No." Harry was unable to tell the difference between real and unreal. The hand placed on his shoulder seemed real, but was the figure in front of his fanciful?

"Don't worry Detective he's with me."

In the midst of his angst, unencumbered suspicion arose in the detective's mind. One that even brought him to the doorstep of Dona's best friend. He eyed Harry with contempt instead of his usually steely gaze.

"Is everything alright Mr Colling?"

He looked from Tony to the Detective. His eyes weren't wild they were tame, with the tameness of an injured lion.

Tony spoke for him, reassuring him with a smile."Yes, he's alright."

Harry nodded and forced a smile.

With the detective's suspicion dwindling Tony spoke to Harry in a whisper. "Neither Crystal nor Dona should see you in this state Harry."He froze at the mention of her name. When he spoke the name, it nearly choked Harry.

"I was about to go to the gym, why don't you and I go together?"

He didn't have time to respond as Tony already gave him an answer by shoving him forward and leading him to the gate.

"Let's take your car, mine's in for repairs." He smiled. "You wouldn't mind would you?" Harry shook his head.

"I'll be right back."

He turned back to watch Tony grab his duffel bag from Crystal. She looked alright, he didn't. He felt embarrassed, shocked at his actions. He didn't only yell at the wind but he came to confront Tony, what for?

Tony was now at his side, duffel bag in hand.

"Shall we?"

Sitting across from a concerned family, she stated."Like any private detective, I have seen many things in my years, even previously as a former agent."She took her hat off and entwined her fingers. "But nothing could have prepared me for what was to come." As the husband held his wife in his arms, she wailed as the detective continued. "I am sorry for your loss."

  • The Painters Death Wish   Beauty Encompassed

There she was. As a lusting satyr grabbed at a feminine figure, Dona was now the sleeping Hermaphrodite artwork. Approaching her from the rear, Harry thought she represented Venus, but, the front side revealed something unexpected. Why had she been represented as Aphrodite's son and not Aphrodite herself? She was stark naked, posing like a doll with no expression. He wanted to touch her, to stroke her cheek and feel the urgency of the scene in front of him. His chest was caving in, and he found it hard to breathe. The tears st

  • The Painters Death Wish   We were once part of the Earth

The doorknob twisted and a light twinkling of metal came from outside. With murderous intent, Harry flung open the door, clinging onto the arch in need for support. Like a cunning serpent, he entered the garden of artworks. Grabbing his phone torch; he lit his way through the gallery. The air was dry, and his sinuses gnawed at him. He sneezed so hard he stumbled into something near the wall. It was wet paint. The gallery was still in the making, the interior design was incomplete, but there were

No matter the room, the smell of rotting flesh followed him like a shadow. He had to steady himself on the walls, trying to escape the voices. Fervent wailing and inaudible speech vibrated all around him. He staggered his way to an unassuming door at the far end of the house. He turned his back to it as soon as he fell, rolling down the door with his stomach clenched. He held his head in his hands, shaken and confused he looked up. Looking down the hallway, the paintings and all their tumult ceased. He was now able to breathe,

He stood and stretched his shoulders, twisted his neck and walked towards the studio. He'd find himself wandering around like a desert wind, without a place to rest. He tried to stay busy with something other than work- he knew that it was a bad idea to be enthralled by the
