Chapter 1

Prologue

It all started with the endless desire to experience what happens beyond the grass fields of Njong, in the seven hills of Ongola also known as Yaounde which is across the great river. It has been a burning desire to fulfil my dreams of studying Book spoken by all the parents in the village.

Till today, it is a privilege to have a child that has studied or is studying in the big university of Ongola. To speak another language which is not English or Ngemba. such children were worshiped, adored and praised in the village. Of course they were the Elites.

Njong, my small lovely village is found in the North West Region of Cameroon. A clan seated in the heart of the Santa sub division. It was said we moved from Mankon during the great population movement in the 1800s.

It is a small village of not up to 1000 inhabitants specialised in farming. We produce 60 percent of vegetables and food supplied across the national territory.

Being  born again Christians, we believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, miracles, speaking in tongues and living a holy life. That was the foundation we received. Though not followed by all, we are strong believers of Jesus.

Government secondary school njong is where I have been studying for the past seven years after completing my nursery and primary education in GNPSN.

My father is the principal and of course wishes that I become an elite. And I promise to become.I am an upper sixth arts student majoring in subjects like: History, literature, French and English.

My dream is to become an archivist or an administrator and due to my success in the competitive entrance exam into ASMAC which my father made me do online, I have secured my place at the big university.

It is the last day of our GCE advanced level examination. You could see the wings of every student popping out. Everyone one said they wrote well. me too, but we all await the final results that will determine our fate concerning the city of seven hills across the great river.
