  • The Third Task   Chapter 18

After studying the horrified expression on Claudia's face, he realised that those words shouldn't have falled out of his mouth. He had ruined the plan, he had ruined it himself."You see ghosts?" Claudia took a step towards him her face wearing a confused countenance.Without saying another word Noah turned his face away from her and his legs took him out of the room. The room which belonged to a sweet little six year old, who was now possessed by an evil spirit. A spirit that would end her along with the people surrounding her. It would uproot any obstacle in its way.Left behind in room littered with absurt-looking, damaged and dirty dolls, Claudia observed her surroundings.Even though she was alone in the room she felt a strong presence with her.Not one but many. Too many pairs of eyes on her.Digging into her flesh, as if they would scoop out her fear and devour it for pleasure.Pressing her

"I never imagined him to cheat on me. Not with the infamous whore of Crestview at least. I gave him all I had. I loved him with every inch of my body. I gave him all of me and what did I get in return? Betrayal. I'm so fucking sick of being played on, just so done with being nothing more than a play thing for someone I consider my everything. For once, just for once I want someone to love me the way I love them." Alyssa broke into tears as she finished telling Claudia everything.Claudia shifted towards her and laid Alyssa's head on her chest, gently rubbing her shoulder and calming her."I feel you Alyssa. You show everyone that no one can hurt you but I know the real you. The sensitive and loyal side of you which you hide from the crowd. Willing to give everything you have for making people stay. Fixing others when you yourself are broken. You're too good for people you give your heart to. It's not even your fault so stop crying over fucked up boys. You d

"Can you lend me a pen? Mine ran out of ink," Claudia asked Fielding."Here""Thanks""So today we will be discussing about the human brain", the Mr.Taflt announced and everyone openned their notebooks. The sound of indistict chatters, pages being flipped and feet tapping the desk filled the room. The tapping noise is the worst. It is so distracting but some students just don't stop. Claudia couldn't affort to knock a new student's head everyday. She and her best friend, Alyssa were already labelled as the most violent students in class. As the teacher continued teaching, she scribbled down messy notes. She would rewrite them when she did her homework so she had not issues. The main thing to be done in class was understanding, note making could be done at home.A knock on the glass of the wooden door sounded and a female teacher in a pink shirt and a long plain black skirt entered."Sorry to disturb you sir but you're

Claudia looked at him wearing a surprised expression on her face."Really?" her cheery voice hiding her confusion. Giving Claudia a little smile, Spencer shut the door and left.Claudia toppled on her bed and curled into the soft pink sheets. All she wanted was to be consumed into deep slumber but her thoughts wouldn't let her.Who could be after her family? As far as she remembered her mom never did anyone dirty. Her mind then went to every strange event she had experienced since Serena fell sick.I am the only one seeing strange things happening around me. Those things are happening to me. All this is so confusing and tiring. Firstly, seeing Serena at the hospital, out of her ward. Soaked in water that stinked of the Chicago River. Dark hued blood trickling down her feeble arms bearing nutrition pipes hanging lifelessly, partially pierced into her pale skin. The mark on my wrist which looked fresh and new till date. It didn't even

  • The Third Task   Chapter 14

Claudia gulped in a breath full of assuage at the site of her mansion. The massive buildings standing silent among the roaring cloud. It was surely about to rain, they had to get in as soon as possible. They both tiptoed through the wide metal entrance gate while the guard was busy snoring. After passing by the garden they finally reached the main building."Wait you're not going in through the front door?" she stopped Noah."I am,""You can't be serious?" she rolled her eyes,"we're going through that window."Claudia pointed towards the big glass window that led to the kitchen. The both climbed in carefully, without making a single sound. Noah whimpered once he passed the dining room. Claudia turned around and hushed him to keep shut, he followed her upstairs, into her room as she locked it."Finally!" she voiced dropping down flat on the bed. Noah walked like a clumsy old man and flopped on the couch and raised his leg to put it

  • The Third Task   Chapter 13

Without wasting another moment he picked up Claudia and made her climb on his back. She got on his back, her legs still shaking with fear and locked her hands around his marginally tattooed neck. The sound of footsteps kept increasing. The guards were coming closer.Getting back on his feet, Noah sprinted out of the exit door. Claudia didn't tear her sight from the two lifeless figures on the icy cold tiled floor until they reached a sufficent distance from the building. After running for a long time, Noah stopped to get a deep breath. Though Claudia wasn't too heavy, his legs ached from carrying her on his back. His chest motioning up and down rapidly as he tried to inhale as much air as possible.Claudia climbed down his back and stood infront of him, on the barely vegetated dull soil ground. A couple of leafless rotting trees, a few dogs loitered around with leftover food in their mouth were the only things in sight.
