The text book was recommended by a lecturer to support us in a course that he was teaching us, I had seen it before at the school library but I dropped it because it seemed old-fashioned, only to find out now that it was just what we were told to use. With the realization that Akorede was not ready to follow me because of the game he was playing and Funsho was busy preparing for whatever he referred to as a picnic with his newest catch, I practically dragged myself into the bathroom and had a cold shower. I returned into the room to find Akorede on his belly now watching an American film and Funsho stuffing his mouth with bread and butter.I walked towards my box and pulled out a red tee-shirt my Mum gave to me when she came for the matriculation, I wore an army colour baggie short and slipped on my leather s
TODUN 21It was a hot day, as the sun shone in it's highest density making the room we were very hot and sometimes made me feel sweaty. I laid down on Funto's bed while Funto and Ahmed sat on the floor playing a ludo game. I hummed along with the song that was played on the mp3 player Ahmed bought a few days ago and laughed at the funny faces Ahmed made whenever it was his time to throw the dice."Ahmed do quick na and let me show you who the most senior is here." Funto whined."Calm down, just calm down." He juggled the dice he was holding and threw them on the board."I told you, I will show you here today." She eyed him playfully and he in turn formed a puppy face. I yawned and sat up the bed to stretch my body."When are your lioness of roommates coming back?" Ahmed asked me as he watched Funto making her lucky throw of the dice."They should be back on M
TÓDÙNHand in hand like school children, I and Funto retraced our steps back to the school gate and we chattered along side. Our topic was about what Victor had said about Nife and my phone. We stopped intermittently as cars passed by and crowd of students walked hastily to their lecture rooms, almost pushing us off the road."Todun." I heard Kunle's voice scream my name. Does he have to do this when this place is this full? I asked myself as I and Funto turned back to have a good view of him.I haven't been able to appreciate him from protecting me from someone that would have given my life a terrible turn around. He was dressed in a native wear of buba and soro which was beautifully decorated at the chest. The same pattern of decoration was on the wrist of the buba as he waved to me. "Who is he?" Funto inquired."The guy who took me home that night." I said to her as we both walked back towards him and his c
TÓDÙNThe vivid clinking of kitchen utensils, made my head bang as if I had a hammer been hit on it. I shifted myself on the bed trying to get more comfortable, thereafter, I opened my eyes and looked around the room only to realize that it was different from where I was used to. Instead of bunks and my roommates going about their businesses, there were two mattresses including the one I was laying on in the room, a thick duvet on my body and masculine things hung everywhere. I held my head with my left palm and used my right arm to pull the duvet off my body and then I sat up. A white Tee-shirt hung loosely on my body, my underwears were perfectly in shape just like I wore them yesterday. I looked around the room wondering if I was the one that took off my clothes but I couldn't remember a thing.I winced in pain when I felt my head bang almost making me break into tears. Trying to stand up from the bed, my head felt so heavy an
