  • Wrenched   Chapter Twenty-seven

'What???' was the resounding word in Robert's head. Theresa's eyes burned with unshed tears, she didn't know when it started falling freely. She closed her eyes, praying for miracle."You must be crazy to think I'll let that happen.""You can't stop this," he motioned to the situation there. "It'll happen whether you want it to or not. Now I don't have any plans to kill you, come on that's too easy. Nothing compared to thirty years in prison. So this is a much ideal picture. A guilted man in prison for who knows how long? He laughed. "You'll go mad."Simon moved back to lean on the edge of the wall, tapping his pistol restlessly on his thighs. It was a great distance down to the ground yet he leaned so comfortably into it. "You know, the plan was to take out your wife, which would make you lose it but apparently, this woman here—" he pointed the pistol to Theresa who shrieked backwards. "somehow came into the picture. How she did that, I have no idea. But it just p

  • Wrenched   Chapter Twenty-six

Richard explained everything Vera had uncovered during the course of her investigation all to the disbelief of Margaret and Sam. More unbelievable. This is someone they've known for the better part of their lives and all of a sudden he's revealed to be a murderer. It was indeed a very shocking revealation as Richard had said in the start of his explanation, and they were still trying to wrap their heads around the whole thing when Richard's phone rang. He answered the phone and muttered "Mmm", a few times before handing the phone to Samul who took it eagerly."He was in the house when we left," he answered Vera who informed him that Robert was neither in his home nor at the agency. After a contemplated silence, Sam spoke up. "Look, I think you have this wrong which means so much time is being wasted on this dead end. All this information is very shocking and quite hard to believe but I know my uncle, and he's grown fund of Theresa. Eve

"... if you so much as touch a strand of hair on her head Simon," Robert threatened sternly over the phone.Simon on the other end, kept laughing to whatever it was he found amusing. "Tsk tsk," he sneered. "I don't like threats Rob so," he growled loudly, Robert dropped his phone. "Stop doing that!""You're crazy Simon. Where's Theresa?" he asked after picking up his phone."Why? Yo want to say hello?" he was wearing a disgusting smirk on his face.Theresa was thrown back into the empty closet by Tiger who was greatly interested in 'having' her much to the disapproval of Simon who threatened the beat the life out of him if he touched her. Her head had been aching since the day before and the tears that kept falling from her eyes wasn't helping either. They had offered her a burger with a medium sized bottle of coke which she'd downed instantly. She and Simon had an 'interesting' conversation about the list of things he planned to do to R

  • Wrenched   Chapter Twenty-four

Simon hovered around, before going back to the table and spreading out the photos all over. "This," he said, picking up the picture of James. "What is this? Why do you have these? What are you? Who are you?" He queried, all at once. When she remained silent, he barked very loudly at her, "Who are you?"Theresa wondered how it's possible she's related to this man. "Theresa," she squealed. "And I-I th-think that's my father!"It was like his breathe seized as he stared her in disbelief. "What?"Theresa looked him over, the surprise was very evident on his face. Maybe that has changed his mind about keeping her here. So, she decided to snatch this opportunity, apologize and beg for her freedom. "I just found out and that's why I came to you. I'm sorry I threatened you, I'm so sorry I upset you but please let me go. I won't go to the police, I promise. Please," she sputtered breathlessly, tears falling from her eyes.

  • Wrenched   Chapter Twenty-three

Margaret sat in the stool behind the kitchen counter, her eyes fixated on the wall clock hanging beside that painting of Robert. It was past 11pm and Theresa still hadn't returned. She'd never stayed out past 9pm and even when she did, she always made sure to call. But today, she hadn't and Margaret took it as a liberty to call her a dozen times to which she didn't answer or text back which worried her gruesomely. Her phone sat in the side quietly calling her to pick it up and dial Theresa for the hundredth time. Just then, Robert drove in. She allowed herself to believe Theresa was with him, they probably met at a mart or somewhere and rode home together. Even if that didn't answer why she wasn't replying her calls, she chose to hope it was so, much to her dismay.Robert walked in half drunk, stinking ferociously of alcohol. Quite unusual, but Margaret was too tensed to remember that. Immediately he walked in, she rushed to the door and bo

  • Wrenched   Chapter Twenty-two

At about 6:45pm, she arrived at Simon Tunes' residence; a storey building apartment beside an alley. Theresa took a second look at the address in hand, just to be sure she was in the right place. She was about to meet her supposed relative after twenty nine years. But knowing that he's a drug addict, a convict and murderer didn't particularly give her the enthusiasm one might feel when seeing family. Satisfied she was in the right place, she rasped her knuckles gently on the steel door awaiting a response. Just as she was about to knock again, the door flew open and Simon emerged in a black tank top that revealed all the scars in his arm and a grey sweatpant. He had a lit cigarette in hand and what she suspected to be a pen knife in the other hand as he sized her up from head to toe. "Who are you?"Her words eluded her as she stared at him. His doe eyes might have presented him as a soft and gentle man but a
