 Darcy Freeman gasped as air rushed into her lungs. Her throat hurt, her eyes were stinging, and she had trouble standing up. Trying to regain her balance, she grabbed hold of a nearby bench, rubbed her head hoping that these sensations would pass. As her eyes focused to her new surroundings, it was unlike anything she had experienced. Two seconds ago, she was about to be blasted into oblivion, shielding her eyes from a blinding light. Now, she could feel a cold breeze across her face and the sun’s rays striking against her. Her pale skin absorbed the sun; she had never experienced the real thing before.
