August 1852 He absolutely hated all of this.He mostly dreaded the fact he had to sit through another of his mother's richly organized dinners. Yet, at the same time, Callum was glad he wasn't the one expected to stay until its very end. He didn't even want to imagine how terrible that would be. 

 Callum had the worst hangover he'd had in a while. And that said a lot, considering he had a pretty solid experience with port and whisky. He looked around the dark room and saw his clothes from last night all over the floor. Callum had no memory of how he'd gotten back to the mansion, but at least he was in his nightgown. 

When the servant opened the door of the study for him,  Oliver saw the two young lords leaning over the big table, papers scattered all over it. A few books were lying open on the side, things marked here and there.They both lifted their heads simultaneously when Oliver entered and the servant closed from outside. It was getting late and they'd almost finished the bottle. They were both in shirtsleeves, and Callum had placed his elbows on his knees, observing the table. "You can't do that move.""But you said I can," Oliver said incredulously. "I can't believe it."
