CHAPTER 1 - Today

The blaring sound of her alarm clock woke her from her deep sleep. She took her phone and jolted when it shows the reminder that today is her first day of work as a teacher in the academy where she used to study. She hurriedly went in her bathroom. After taking a shower she puts on a white button down shirt tucked in a black fitted pants and a black wedge. She puts on a red lipstick and her black framed glasses. She looked at her mirror. Her eyes suddenly sparkled because of the water that wants to fall from it but she stopped it. This is the day that she has been waiting for. After all the hardships, she’s finally a teacher. “I made it, mom.” She said in the mirror.

CHAPTER 2

FLASHBACK…….I woke up because of the loud clanging from the kitchen. It must be my stepmother trying to act like a house wife because my Dad just got back from his one week out of the town work. I rolled my eyes at the thought of her in the kitchen trying to cook something when the truth is she can’t even boil an egg. Hilda, my stepmom is a witch to say at least. She always makes sure that my life is miserable but I do the same thing to her. I don’t act like a damsel in distress. That’s not how I was raised by my mom. I fight for my right and that includes my right to make her life a living hell.

CHAPTER 3

After that dramatic moment, I grabbed my stuff in my room and decided to go to Lucia’s house. I messaged her about my arrival before I started the engine of my car.Lucia is her long time best friend. They’ve been together since birth. Her parents and mine are good friends and we’re cousins. Her mom and my mom are twins. They let me call them Paps and Mama. I knocked on their door and I am welcomed by Mama (Lucia’s mom).

CHAPTER 4

I went home after I calmed Lucia down. I am about to park my car when I noticed that there’s a car parked in the vacant house beside us. I just shrugged it off.I opened the door and found dad and a guy having coffee and talking about something. By the look of it, the guy is in his mid 20’s. He has strong features from his perfectly sculpted jaw, chiseled nose, bushy brows and perfect lips. The only gentle feature is his blue eyes which are almost covered by the thick long lashes.“T

CHAPTER 5

A few weeks had passed. Timothy started to join us every Sunday. We eat lunch to our house or to theirs. I met his parents. He has a younger brother who is a year older than me. His name is Odin. With that short period of time, Odin and I became close. He is as handsome as his brother but he looks more approachable. Today is one of those days where we will spend the Sunday to their house. I am wearing a mom jeans, a white plain shirt and an espadrilles. On the other hand, Hilda and Trisha are both wearing full glam attires. They look like they’re about to enter a fashion show.We are welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Roberts. Beside them are their two sons. I waved at Odin and he did the same thing. I caught how Timothy rolled his eyes at me. I noticed that this past few days, his mysterious smiles fade out.Tita Maribel hugged Hilda and Tricia but the cringe from her did not pass my eyes.“Looking good, dear.” Tita Maribel (Odin and Timothy’s mom) said to me.

CHAPTER 6

We are on the plane going to the Philippines. I am seated beside Odin who's asleep while I am wide awake staring at the clouds on the window. After a couple of minutes, I decided to shut the window. Suddenly, his head slide and land on my shoulder. I look at him. I noticed that he really is handsome. But I don’t feel intimidated like how I felt to his brother. He looks exactly the same as him but I feel like I will never feel the same way as I felt to Timothy. Wait, why do I keep on comparing them? I didn’t thought I was staring too much if not because of the pseudo cough from the seat beside us. It's Timothy. Again, I felt embarrassed because he saw how I looked at his brother.I pretended that I did not see him so I shut my eyes and slept. We landed at El Nido Palawan, Philippines. The island is breathtaking. It has white sand and blue sea. It feels like you’re in paradise. As I look at the sea, I felt a hand on my shoulder. “Palawan, baby
