The words of the wicked couple that escaped their filthy mouths earlier at breakfast has been running inside Emily’s mind since then. “Queen Emily, wake up.” The gruffy voice of the butler woke her up. As she peeked an eye open to slowly adjust from the brightness, her eyes set upon a worried look of the butler. She couldn’t clearly remember anything, why she ended up here in bed.“I would like to apologize in behalf of Prince, I mean, King Axl for acting not like his usual behavior. And sorry for barging in your room; I’ve been standing outside for a few minutes but you still didn’t get up.” He bowed his head at her.

Somehow, the tensed muscles of Emily’s body relaxed. She blinked a few times as what she had heard. “You locked them up? Why would you lock them up? Lucius needs to be wed as soon as possible; he’s losing his powers and he’s becoming…” Emily glanced down on the floor and lifted her eyes back to the spine-chilling unusual grey orbs of his. “…human.”“I knew you’d understand.” A smile of insanity marked itself on his face. Chapter: Chapter 3
Due to the different tone of my phone, I was pulled straight out of my sleep. I reached an arm onto the table and my fingers tapped, trying to find where my phone was. As I felt a touch of a solid rectangle device, I grabbed it and accepted the call. Not bothering on seeing who the caller was."Xyla! You're fired!"With that voice, I could easily tell that it was my manager. I frowned when the words he said seemed to have echoed inside my head.I easily recalled that on the very first day of my shift, when I was late, he contained his anger in a jar. But clearly, it was about to burst. He reminded me of the rules, especially the first one–to not be late, once happens, employee gets fired.I stayed up all night. Anticipating that I would find out who the prankster was. Or maybe, murderer. That person could've killed my aunt!If I wouldn't have stayed up all night until whatever the time was before I fell asleep–I shouldn't h

Chapter: Chapter 2
A huge lump of nervousness stuck itself in my throat that I’ve been itching to swallow down. Mister Officer James here, the cop, had offered me a ride after that little incident with Ralph earlier. I insisted on walking to my home by myself but he carried me and shoved me inside his luxurious car. And since a few minutes ago, I fully intended on filing a case for kidnapping but I can’t do that now; his car’s seat is too comfortable.“I’m not on duty for the rest of the afternoon and decided on going to the café. I never knew that a wonderful goddess such as you would sweep me off of my feet and carry me to the heavens.” James smiled as he focused his eyes on the road. His words allowed me to cringe mentally. I averted my attention and thoughts from him to the world on the other side of the car window. For these two months, I learned to live by myself since my aunt died. I knew the Lord himself knows that I can get through this loneliness and mess up thoughts without rely

Chapter: Chapter 1
My eyes darted up to the door meters away from me when a family of three entered the café. They sat on the spot at the corner where the pastel blue wall and the well-polished glass window meet. I stood up and carefully folded the page I was reading into half and closed the book down to the counter table.I picked up the menu from beside the book and brought it with me. My feet strode on the distance between me and the costumers, I sucked in a deep breath before greeting, “Good afternoon, may I take your orders?”“We’ll have—”“No, mommy, I thought you agreed that it would be my turn to order today,” the little girl’s wavy blonde curls that were tied into twin tails bounced when she jerked her head up to face her mother with a glare.“Alright,” the mother snorted and she handed the menu over to her daughter. In nervousness, my feet tapped together with my uncomfortable sneakers
