TODAY'S MONDAY, first day of school. Mr. Robert had sent all my new clothes earlier this morning, via two strange fellows. They came with a signed note, so I knew it was Mr. Robert who had sent them.I pressed my new school uniform very neatly and I polished my shoes so that they shined like the sun. I took a hot bath, and frantically dried my body.I wasn't just exited about school, but because I was going to meet jo with Ava, a white girl. This was my first encounter with a white girl, and to crown it all, she asked for this.I first met Ava back in the party, where we spoke only briefly.I still remembered how she looked enchanting in her red dinner gown and high heel shoes. The kiss she planted on my cheek, was indelible a

Patiently waiting and hoping for tomorrow, so I would talk be with Ava and we could talk.Ava was young and smart, from the brief time we had spent talking, I knew she was a smart person.I laid quietly in my bed and considered several factors. If I was going to both succeed in academia and enjoy the pleasures that women brought, I had to be smart and cautious about my actions.I only got here and I wouldn't want to become the centre of attention so soon. But I never fancied being anonymous in the background.I wanted to shine and be known and all the glory that came with popularity, were what I craved.Nonetheless, I had t

Chapter: The Party
♠ Fiesta Night ♠MY BED was small and portable. Very comfortable and attractive to sleep on. I wanted to know what James and Ernest were up to, but I had to stay in my lane. This wasn't the train station or the luxurious bus. This was Nightingales High and here, am a senior to all four other students on scholarship with me.I was in grade eleven(11), Ernest and James were in their tenth(10th) grade and Isabel was in grade nine (9).The party was for everyone, but in honour of the new students on scholarship. So literarily, we were the celebrities for this fiesta night's party." Akon, Akon" I heard a knock at my door. I opened up and I saw Ernest. Akon it's thirty minutes to the party, I can't wear these. Chapter: Nightingales High
WHEN MR. Ford was done speaking, an awkward silence filled the air. Everyone had become silent suddenly. The bus was so silent you could hear your heartbeat within you.The road was tarred and smooth. On either sides of the road, a well preserved vegetation of flowers grew.It was indeed a new world. I looked far ahead of the road and I saw a curved gigantic bridge, like the ones in Hemmingway, my former school. The bridge was magnificent and beautiful, and I was greatly tensed when we drove on it.Our driver sped along, solely motivated and encouraged by the absolute silence in the bus. I turned to look at Isabel, the only girl in our midst. I starred at Isabel for a long while. Suddenly I burst out in laughter; fo

Chapter: Are we there yet?
" AKON, AKON!" I heard a voice calling, certainly, it was Mr. Bradley's .Was I awake or was I asleep, I couldn't tell, I was in a trance perhaps. The soft foamy passengers seats in the train was a very Cosy bed to me. Most of the staffs from NH won't understand this, compared to the hard plywood I slept on back in Helven, this was a luxury." Wake up, you Helven born sluggard" came the voice again. With a rather friendly tone." How was your night Akon?"" Lonely," I said." You sure your night was lonely? ""Very certain Mr. Bradley, I said confidently."
