"What do you think about Paris so far?" Ludwina asked as they arrived at the Pullman hotel lobby.

"Graceful," Andrea said, not hiding his admiration. "My favorite city so far."

"Good to hear that."

'My favorite city, too,' thought Ludwina to herself.

They went to the receptionist and immediately checked in. The staff checked the booking under Andrea's name on the list, and his expression abruptly changed.

"I am very sorry... I mistook your booking and prepared a deluxe room with a double bed." The staff shook his head, looking guilty. "Will that be alright with you?"

Ludwina and Andrea looked at each other. The check-in staff incorrectly inputted the room they booked as a room with one large bed instead of two twin beds.

"Don't you have other rooms with twin beds?" Ludwina asked.

The staff shook his head with an apologetic face."I am sorry, the last one was booked already, and the guests already checked in. Why don't we give you a complimentary dinner if you take the room with a double bed? It's on us. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience."

Andrea sighed. The staff was nice enough to compensate them with a free dinner at the hotel, but he couldn't give them a room with two beds.

"That's fine. We'll take it. Thank you," Ludwina answered in the end. She knew Andrea was not going to make up his mind to accept the hotel staff's offer, so she had to rush over to agree.

"It's okay, later, we can do a rock-paper-scissor game to see who will be sleeping on the floor~ " the girl whispered in a mischievous voice.

The bellboy then guided them to the 10th floor and brought the second suitcase. They entered a gorgeous room, with large windows overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

"This is perfect!" commented Ludwina, looking impressed.

She tipped the bellboy and started stacking her suitcases at the corner by the window. Their room was exquisite and furnished with expensive linens and classy furnishings, but it was tiny compared to the spacious rooms in 5-star hotels in Asia.

There were only one big bed and a small sofa in the room. If there had been a large sofa, one of them could sleep on the couch and the other on the bed.

Seeing this condition, they really had to do that rock-paper-scissor game to determine who would be sleeping on the floor.

The two of them looked at each other.

Andrea laughed at Ludwina's expression. Then he shook his head while tidying his suitcase in the cupboard.

"We don't have to play that paper-rock-scissor game. Let me sleep on the floor, but I'll ask for a pillow and duvet blanket ..."

Ludwina opened her mouth to say something, but she stopped. She didn't know what the best scenario was.

She was happy that Andrea was gentleman enough, taking the hard part by sleeping on the floor, but in her heart, she felt sorry.

"If it's like this, we should have stayed at another hotel…" She pouted a little. Unfortunately it was high season in Paris and the check-in staff said 98 percent of accommodation in the city was booked already.

They really didn't have many options.

"Come on, where will we go now?" Andrea suddenly asked.

"Hmm... because it's late afternoon, we should walk down the river Seine to Trocadero... From there, you can see the Eiffel Tower at night with its cool lights."

"Tomorrow, we can go up to the top of the tower if you want. We can have a romantic dinner there too, but it's usually fully booked and too expensive. It's more exciting to have a picnic in the square near the Eiffel Tower."

Ludwina talked a lot about the city of Paris as they took a walk down the streets of Paris, which was bustling with tourists.

They passed by painters on the banks of the Seine River, who sold their paintings.

There were also book dealers, street musicians, gypsy, Parisians trying to hurry after work, hordes of Asian tourists and noisy American tourists, and many more...

Seeing that Ludwina was almost separated from him in the middle of the ocean of people, Andrea stretched out his hand and grabbed the girl's right hand.

"You set our pace for walking, okay? I will follow you, " said Andrea.

Ludwina smiled broadly and nodded.

'Oh... why are you so understanding?' She asked herself.

Andrea realized that because he was tall and had long legs, he automatically walked much faster than little Ludwina. Because of that, he decided to follow the girl's speed so that they would not be separated.

For the first time, the two of them were finally near the Eiffel Tower, which was emitting beautiful lights.

"Aren't you going to take a photo?" Andrea asked.

Ludwina shook her head.

"It's useless. Because the French government still holds the copyright to the Eiffel Tower at night with lights. So even if I take a photo, it can't be posted. If the daytime Eiffel Tower, there is no copyright...so it's free if you want a photo."

"Oh, I see." Andrea nodded, understanding what the girl said.

They enjoyed the evening view of Paris before finally returning to the hotel to enjoy a free dinner from Hotel Pullman because the staff gave them the wrong type of bed.

After a good meal, the two sat chatting in the lobby about their planned adventure for tomorrow. Ludwina also showed off the photos she took during the last few days.

At 10 pm, the sun finally set. Both of them started to feel sleepy. Andrea and Ludwina went to the bedroom to sleep so that tomorrow they could explore Paris again with fresh bodies.

"Are you sure about this?" Ludwina asked as she handed the blanket and pillow to Andrea. "I'm fine if we switch. Later at 3 am, I will wake up and take my turn sleeping on the floor."

"Ahahaha, it's okay, Win. It's no bid deal. You don't have to bother. Just sleep. We'll walk again tomorrow," Andrea replied.

He adjusted the position of the blanket and pillow, then laid down quietly. He closed his eyes for a moment later and whispered,

"Good night, Wina."

"Good night, Andrea."

It was challenging for Ludwina to close her eyes that night. She knew sleeping on the floor would make Andrea sore.

'Hmm... I don't actually mind sharing the huge bed with Andrea….' she thought to herself.

They could make some sort of border or something with the pillows. Or, she could just go back to wearing a face mask, even several layers, so that the man wouldn't be tempted to do anything at all...

With these thoughts, Ludwina finally fell asleep at 2 am.

Three days in Italy passed like a dream. Andrea and Ludwina enjoyed their visit to Rome, Firenze, which was also known as Florence, and Sienna. Everything showcased the charm of old cities from hundreds of years ago, which made them feel as though they had entered a time machine. Finally, the sad moment arrived when they had to pack and go home. After saying goodbye to Beth and Hans as well as Angela, Andrea and Ludwina drove back to Rome's airport and returned the rental car. From Rome, they flew to Amsterdam, and from there, they took the SQ back to Singapore.***"I've never gone home from vacation feeling this sad..." Andrea told Ludwina as he sat on his seat by the aisle."We'll go again sometime," Ludwina smiled reassuringly. "if you can take another leave. We'll make plans again. You've been an amazing travel mate.""Thank you. You too!"Ludwina was relieved that they managed to travel together without encountering any problems

"This afternoon, we'll be going to the small town of Pitigliano to shop for groceries, as well as have a look. We'll be going to Rome tomorrow, Firenze the next day, and we can go to Sienna on the last day," Ludwina spread the map on the table and pointed to several locations."Okay." Andrea agreed on whatever the girl suggested. He loved the fact that Ludwina knew Italy like the back of her hand.As they got out to the car, they saw a German couple in the apartment next door sitting, playing cards on their terraces while enjoying their wine. Both of them were probably in their 70s and looked very relaxed. All the way from Rome's airport to here, Ludwina and Andrea saw numerous camper vans containing retired couples who were on vacation like they were, which amazed Andrea, since it was rare for him to see elderly people in Asia going on vacation together like that."Hello, how are you? We're guests in the apartment next door. I'm Ludwina, and this is Andr

They woke up when the sun was up, and they both shyly made up the bed before taking turns to take a shower. Today's schedule was just to visit the Louvre Museum, and Ludwina had already booked tickets online, so they didn't have to queue for long. This was the fourth time Ludwina had visited the museum. But, it was the first time for Andrea. Ludwina helped explain what was in each section, so they didn't need to use a museum guide. In the Louvre, various prehistoric objects were stored, such as tools used by ancient humans, various mummies from Egypt, jewelry from the Egyptian and Roman times, ancient armor, and hundreds of legendary unique paintings.Andrea was surprised to find out that the infamous Monalisa painting was actually small in size, and that area was always crowded with hundreds of tourists. It was quite underwhelming.Ludwina and Andrea were more interested in seeing the other paintings, which were enormous and filled the display walls. Som

The sun rose outside their open window. In summer like this, it was nice to leave the window open and enjoy the warmth outside. Ludwina woke up because of the incoming light, and she felt her body was aching. When she looked around, the girl was shocked beyond belief. As it turned out, she was no longer sleeping on the bed, but on the floor, right next to Andrea, and even her head was lying on the man's chest."Oh, God...."Ludwina cursed her own sinful body. Last night, she fell out of bed because before she could sleep, she had been restless all night.Ugh, fortunately, there was Andrea underneath her when she fell. Otherwise, her body might have immediately hit the floor and had a lump on her head."I-I'm...sorry, I usually sleep like a princess, you know... I don't have a bad sleeping habit. I don't know why last night I fell out of bed..." she muttered apologetically.Ludwina complained, trying to sit up. 'Ouch... my feet and hands are

  • A Love That Never Fails   Chapter 32 - In Amsterdam And Paris

The next day Andrea kept his promise to carry Ludwina around the Rembrandtplein. It was some sort of plaza opposite the king's palace. It was quite large and filled with many tourists. They came in the summer, and there were lots of visitors flocking Amsterdam. The weather was quite friendly too, perfect for a stroll and sightsee.Ludwina told Andrea that if they came in spring, the chill of the wind would be quite annoying, although the scenery would be breathtaking with flowers. Many other tourists noticed the two when Andrea gave Ludwina a piggyback ride, but the girl just ignored it. She remembered that during the first month she met Andrea, almost every week, the young man carried her to the hospital for 'physiotherapy'."Ah... good times, ' She thought."You don't feel embarrassed being carried like this?" asked Andrea, looking back.Ludwina just laughed, "Why? Are you embarrassed? So, next time, don't lose the bet. Listen to what Ludw
