LOGINBeing inquisitive, I stopped to take in the environment, it really was breathtaking, I had never seen anything like it in my fifteen years of existence. It looked like heaven compared to where I was coming from.
The buildings were well spaced and brightly coloured, flowers were planted around the hedges of each house giving the environment a very nice smell which I sniffed in deeply.
The serenity around me was amazing, the estate was really calm.I noticed that the houses were of different sizes and shapes. Some were extremely big, some medium sized and some just modest.
'' So you are going to be living in this paradise soon''
My subconscious mind cooed
'' Shut up, I don't even know if I am in the right place, what if my uncle is dead?, What if he doesn't even accept me?, how do I introduce myself?'' I thought.
Looking up ahead, I noticed a sign which read 'Block 5' ,
'' I can't be too far from uncle Bolarin's house'' I concluded.
Hastening my footstep, I was finally standing in the front of an Ash coloured storey building with huge black gates rimmed with gold, the building was spacious and really breathtaking.
''My uncle must be really rich o, just see the house he is living in'' I said.
Knock! Knock!! Knock!!! , I hit the gate calmly, scared that if I hit it loud, I would be disturbing the serenity of the environment.
Realizing that I wasn't heard as there was no reply, I picked up a pebble few feet's away from me and hit the gate with every strength in me earning an angry shout from behind the gate.
'' Who be that '' screamed the voice,
'' who wants to break the gate o''the angry masculine voice laced with sleepiness added, he was probably woken up by my knock.'' Why wouldn't I break down the door when it seemed you were deaf''
My subconscious mind retorted.
Finally pushing the gate open, the middle aged man who I presumed had the angry voice stared angrily at me. For a split seconds, a surprised emotion flickered through his face, he was probably surprised to see a person as young as myself standing at the front of the gate.
His emotion immediately changed to that of anger and after scrutinizing my small frame, he finally spoke up ''What do you want here?, who do you want to see? ''
'' I am here to see my uncle'' I said boldly.
'' uncle?, here?, are you sure you did not miss your way?'' He asked.
'' No sir, I have neither missed my way or gotten lost, I am here to see Mr. Bolarin my uncle'' I replied.
'' you mean you want to see my oga? from where ! Nibo lo tì já wà?, how are you related to him sef?, oh! Abi
you came to beg him for money'' he verbalised.'' Excuse me sir.., I yelled in reply visibly pissed at what he said,
'' Do I look like a beggar to you, or can't I come to ask for my uncle in his house again''.'' who this rat dey follow talk, abeg before I open this my eyes wey I close, make you don commot for here or else, I go too beat you abeg'' he didn't get to finish talking before he was interrupted by a beautiful dark sophisticating looking girl about my age who could actually pass for a model.
'' Festus, what is the meaning of this drama and shouting going on at the front of the gate'' she asked with an accent of an oyinbo person.
'' small madam, na this small girl wey miss road dey cause ruckus for here like this o'' he grumbled .
'' what does she want?'' She asked again.
Before Mr. Johnny could reply, I entered into the compound.
'' Good day, I actually came to see my uncle Mr. Bolarin and Mr. Festus here wouldn't let me in'' I replied with the nicest smile I could give.
'' You lying witch, what did I just hear you say?, that my own father, is your uncle or what'' she asked gestulating to herself, she really looked rilled up by what I said.
The beautiful Facade she had on has now turned into that of lady malificient, how good people are at pretending.
I was visibly scared and shaken by the way she yelled at me.
'' My father does not have another family elsewhere not to talk of a little niece like you, so who are you to say he is your uncle, you liar'' She spat angrily. '' if you do not get out of this house at the count of ten, I would release dogs on you.''
I was shocked at what she said, I understood that my uncle might not be expecting me but I was not expecting this harsh reaction I got, most especially from someone my mate.
At the sight of the huge looking dog coming towards me, I almost had a panic attack, I turned and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, I didn't even bother to look in the direction I was running, the dog chased me all around the house until I finally escaped outside the gate.
Who else is laughing with me, I practically laughed hard writing this chapter.
Oga: boss
Nibolotijawa: where did you come from.Sef/ abi /wey: Yoruba exclamations.Abeg: pidgin word for please.Commot: leave.I go too beat you abeg: I would beat you so much.Do you think jola is at the right place?.
What do you think will happen next?.
My shortest chapter so far.
The book is kind of boring now but am sure the chapters to come would convince you.
Drop your thoughts. Please don't forget to hit the orange star.

"Can I come in" Mrs. Jessie asked peeping through the hall opened door."Yes ma" I replied."Good morning ma" I greeted as soon as she sat beside me on the bed."Morning dear" she responded looking at me with a beaming smile which was contagious making me smile in return. She looked really beautiful and staring at her felt like I was staring at Folakemi, the resemblance was totally striking and the only difference was that she looked older and she has a lighter skin tone."I hope you had a good night rest and you aren't missing your other room?" she asked with a smile tugging on her lips."I had a good night rest ma. and I am getting used to this room already" I replied smiling nervously.I was wondering why she was here."Well I am sorry about the tantrum Folakemi pulled yesterday, she was just being childish" she said as if sensing my th

stood up, said a quick thank you to them and made for my room. Surprisingly, I felt happy, I finally have a home and a new family. I hummed my favorite song but my joy was cut short by what i saw in my room.My bed was dripping wet, the bed had been torn and fragments of wet foam were spilling out of it, the rug was thickly soaked, the curtain was shredded and pulled off into a pile at the foot of the bed.I looked left and noticed my books were no longer on the dressing table, I walked into the room trying to get a better picture but unfortunately I stepped on glass, I quickly looked up and realized the dressing mirror was no longer on the wall, a few feet away stood the wood the mirror was carved into making me realize what I just stepped on were glass crystals from the broken mirror.I winced from the pain and moved in better, leaving trails of blood on the floor, I immediately regretted pulling off my flops
The sound of the door forcefully pulled open startled me at first but got me angry seeing as the intruder was no other person but Folakemi."What guts she has" I thought raising my eyebrows and masking up a bold face, her presence slightly intimidates me."What do you want here" I asked with a fake smile. She totally ignored my question and sashayed into the room. She walked towards the wardrobe and locked the doors rather too loudly, she moved to the shoe racks sniffing at them, she moved to the window and looked out before finally moving to my bed side table. She picked up the novel I earlier placed there and flipped through the pages before dropping it back. "I presume you have a flair for reading" she began. Mean while, I stood surprised and partly scared as to what bussines she had in my room."So the
