BITTER SWEET

Gabriel Beau a six foot four inch tall young man, with jet black hair and eyes so blue they made the sky look faded and lips that looked like they where ment for kissing, rushed into his fasther's bedroom with a look of distress on his face to find Adrien Beau his father looking weak and frail on the bed that had once looked small when his father was in it, now the bed looked big and Adrien Beau looked tiny lying there on the bed. Looking at the once proud, elegant and incredibly strong man lying weak and deathly pale in bed something tore open In Gabriel's heart, he had never seen his father like this before and at that moment he prayed that his father could beat this horrible sickness.

    At twenty-two and freshly out of college all Gabriel wanted was to have fun with his friends and enjoy his youth before taking over his father's business. Gabriel was in Miami partying heavily with his friends when his phone rang, the display read "ma mère" (mother). Gabriel looked at the phone with a frown his mum it was nine PM in Miami, which means it was three AM, slomething must be wrong, la mère would never call unless it was urgent. Nine hours and forty-five minutes later he is seated at his father's bedside too scared to hold his hand for fear that he might cause him pain.

"le père? can you hear me?" Gabriel whispered laying his head on the pillow next to his father's, gently he picked up his father's rfight hand and held it gently in his own, which now seemed larger than his father's. "I'm so sorry i wasn't here for you, la mère never told me anything. she said you had told her not to say anything because you didn't want to disturb my final exams, it hurts to know that all this while when ever we spoke on the phone you have been ill and never said anytihing? i would have been here sooner"

Gabriel climbed on the bed next to his father and gently pulld the older man into his arms, he felt his father sigh softly and he pulled back to look at his face only to see tears roll down his father's cheeks as he mumbled "i love you son" and with that he took his last breath. Gabriel huged him tightly and whispered

Early the next morning his father's lawyer came to the house with some documents

"Bonjour, good morning everyone" he said as he walked into the huge confrence room in the house, " my condolences, as we all know my name is Denis Constantin and i am the legal practitioner of Beau group of companies and also Adrien Beau's personal lawyer, without further delay i would like to inform you that Adrien made sure he settled all legal matters concering his business and private estates before his passing, everytihing that he did with Madame will belong to her and the rest goes to his beloved son Gabriel. Here are the documents" he said handing Amelie and Gabriel some papers, they took them and he said " please sign in the indicated spaces and everything will be transfered to you" without a word Gabriel signed the documents and handed them over to Monsieur Constantin, he took the papers from Gabriel with a nod, taking Gabriel's hand he shook it and said "congratulations, you're now the CEO of Beau group of companies.
