  Nathan had heard a series of cracks and pops, along with the occasional bone break. His mate was in pain but he couldn't do anything about it but it got worse when he could hear him whining in pain and confusion. It hurt him to know that he couldn't comfort his mate, who was under the bed, going through his first shift in who knows how long. Nathan had tried to crawl underneath the bed to get his mate out but his large build prevented him from reaching and comforting his mate.Will had only shifted once in his lifetime and the first time was never this painful but that could have been because he was a child when his first shift to a human came.   Three days had passed since Will woke up in his mates home. His recovery went smoothly and today would be the day that Anna gave him the clear to do more stuff. She had scolded Will when she learned that he went out hunting, yes he had mostly recovered from hyperthermia and shock but there could have been side-effects that she hadn't realized or he could have gone back into shock.   Nathan had made it up the stairs and into his room when his mate began to stir awake. He watched as the little fox began to yawn and open his eyes and Nathan finally noticed something peculiar about his mates eyes. They were beautiful, icy-blue that were like grey waves that shimmered in the sun but his eyes had a sheen over them.   People were in the room when Will first woke up. He had opened his icy blue eyes just a little bit and could only see white. He had closed his eyes at that and he wanted nothing more than to shut off his scene of smell. Everything smelled sharp and disgusting. It was as if death himself came into the room and cleaned it. He let out a huff at that thought, unaware that he just drew unwanted attention to himself. "Is he up?" someone asked to Will's right, "I'm not sure.   Day's went by from their first meeting, quickly turning into weeks and soon months. Will noticed how he felt safe near the wolf, even though he an alpha and towered over him. It didn't bother him now that he and the wolf had gone on numerous nightly adventures. The two acted like kids, sneaking out and leaving home to meet with one another by the stream.   The sun was high in the sky when Will came back to the den to drop off his prey catches. Jasper had gone off to gather more nesting materials for the mother's nest. She wanted to make it more comfortable for her or something along those lines. Will was hardly listening to her when she mentioned what she was going to do, he was busy cleaning out the den and moving the prey pile around, burying some of it to make sure it stayed fresh.After cleaning he left to go out hunting for a bit and once he caught a rabbit he brought it back and buried it with the other prey, piling a bit of snow to keep it cold and to make sure that non of it rotted before being eaten.
