LOGIN"Is this some kind of sick joke?!" I shrieked at my mom in outrage. The couch and flickering TV surrounding me were fading away as my vision practically turned red.My mom looked at me with sympathy. "Baby, I'm sorry, we'll do something special with only you as soon as we get back."She was actually serious. My mother was seriously going to take her, dad and Trent to Motherfucking Hawaii, without me. She thought this was a perfectly sane idea."Special? You mean more like once in a damn lifetime!?""Language!" She hissed.I struggled not to roll my eyes as sarcasm dripped from my every word. "Sorry, Mom. I'm just a little confused as to why I can't go."She looked down, fiddling with her hands, "You see, honey, w
"Ms. Blake...Lauren.""Yes?" I snapped out of my zoned out state. Immediately, I felt several pairs of eyes directed at me."What type of narrator do we have in this story?" Mr. Fields stood at the front of the room with a smug smile on his face, assuming I wouldn't know.I smirked and leaned back in my chair at ease, causing his eyes to narrow. "That would be an unreliable narrator."He crossed his arms over his chest and nodded, not very enthusiastically.I had made sure to read the first two chapters of the new story we are reading in class last night, so I wouldn't have to focus much today. And no, I would never go as far as to call myself a "nerd", I just liked getting good grades.I smiled at Mr. Fields until he broke our
It took me approximately 3 seconds before I could make words come out of my mouth. "What do you want, Tyler?" I asked the question with a glare, though exhaustion was threatening to overwhelm me. Tyler visibly swallowed, his eyes flashing up and down my body before meeting my gaze once again. "You look like shit," he stated. I glanced down and remembered I was standing in front of him with baggy guy clothes and a messy bun. I fought the heat threatening to swarm my cheeks and instead focused on my anger. "Really?" I asked dryly. "Thanks for letting me know, otherwise I would've gone about my day thinking I looked like
"Okay, now spill!" It was later after school that same day, and Audrey and I were lounging on my bed. She had refrained from bringing up the photo booth incident all through dinner—most likely because we were eating with the rest of my family—but it appeared she couldn't wait any longer. I groaned and stuffed a handful of gummy bears in my mouth. This could buy me another two minutes of stalling. Audrey sighed and popped a few in her mouth while she waited for me to finish, turning her attention to the tv that was on the wall across from my bed.
"Um...hi?" I finally said something to Tyler, frowning up at him. Why was he here? How did he even manage to find out about my date? My eyes narrowed in thought. Trent. He smirked, his grip around my waist not loosening. "Well, well, well, Lauren, stalking me to the movie theater, huh?" My jaw dropped. Oh. So maybe he wasn't here because he knew about my date with Brandon. "No I'm not!" I exclaimed.
Tyler's POV "Aye, pass me a beer, dude." "Tyler, man!" I looked away from the flashing TV, just noticing Will was talking to me. "Oh, sorry. Here." I passed him an ice-cold can of Bud. He shook his head and cracked it open. "What's up with you lately?" "Nothing." I grunted, taking a large gulp from my beer. It had been a week since I ran out of gas with Lauren, and nothing was happening
