Chapter I

"Happy Birthday, Ryl!"

"Happy birthday, Aryl!"

"Happy birthday Aryl!"

The minute  I stepped out of our car, the people inside the lobby of the hotel,  welcomed me with gossips and noises.

My heart raced its beats as my stomach ached because of the people who laid their eyes on me. My hands were now sweating as I glanced at the person who had their lip curved as they saw me.

We are now celebrating my 15th birthday. My mom and dad planned all of this. The venue, the foods, the guests were so damn perfect.

The magnificent lights gave life to the whole hotel, with paper butterflies that were hanging around the ceiling with the brilliant and the closest people to me are both wearing charming dresses and tuxedos.

I am like a true-to-life princess who was happily walking to the extravagant aisle.

I was shocked for the first time I saw myself wearing this expensive gown of mine. It fits the curve of my body.

I am wearing my cyan tube ball gown that was inspired to my favorite Disney princess with my precious bun that glimmers and the dazzling red carpet floor that shines because of the sparkling glitters on it.

My mom and dad met me in the middle of the lobby with a big smile on their faces, mom was wearing a black ball gown that pairs with my dad's black tuxedo.

"You are really pretty as always, my princess!" my dad exclaimed as I walk with him while he is greeting the invited guests.

"Thanks, Dad," I answered and gave him a peck on his cheeks.

"You are always welcome, my princess. Your dad loves you so much!" he said as I noticed a tear fell down on his cheeks.

"My precious daughter is now a lady," he added that makes me smile more, and wipe the tears on his wrinkled cheeks.

I laugh on the sudden thought and hugged him real tight," But I am always your princess!" I exclaimed, which makes him smile.

"Yes, Of course. Even though a young prince charming will ask my permission to marry you in the future. You will always be my princess." he said and ruffled my hair with his right hand.

I sigh in annoyance. "Dad, look what you've done!" I exclaimed and pouted my lips.

"Hahaha. Why? Is it bad to do sweet gestures? " he laughs and fix again my hair that he ruffled.

"Dad, it is not like that. It's just that... It's my birthday." I pouted again my lips that make him smile and kiss me in my pink cheeks.

"So your dad cannot do sweet gestures to his princess just because it's her birthday?" he asked and was obviously hurt because of what I said then cringed my nose and smile a little.

"Dad!" I please and hug him to ease his pain.

"Hahaha. I'm just joking my princess!" he said while laughing as he embraces his arms to my shoulders.

I glanced at his happy face and drew a smile on my lips. "I love you, Dad. You are the best!" I said and gave him a peck.

While I'm giving him a peck, I saw my mom walking with her serious face."How about your mom, my princess?" she pouted when she approached us.

I laughed and gave her a kiss and hugged her tightly. "Of course, mom. You are the best. I'm very lucky to have you as my parents!" I fight the urge of crying and closed my eyes to fight the tears.

She answered it with a sweet smile on her lips and kissed my cheeks, "I'm also a lucky mom to have you as my daughter," she said while holding my face with her bare hands.

"I love you, mom!" I exclaimed and gave her a peck on her lips.

She gave me a reassuring smile and cringed my nose that is now red as a tomato "I love you too, Aryl," she said and held my hand to guide me in the venue.

We walk around the aisle of the hotel.  Every people who passed through us plastered on their faces.

But while we are walking around the venue, a loud gunshot filled the whole place. Everyone gets upset because of that gunfire.

I don't know where to go. I looked at my side but underlying horror and nervousness filled my heart as I noticed that my parents were gone.

"Aryl, here!" that voice caught my attention. I turned my back and immediately search for that voice.

I saw him with my mom who is hiding under the table that has a blanket on it.

I glanced at the person who is holding a gun and run towards my parents.

As I approached their place, I immediately felt my mom's hug and all I can see is the fear and hopelessness of her eyes. I search for my dad's eye, I saw him looking at the man who was behind this.

"Wait for me here!" he coldly said and stood up but I held his hand with fear and objection towards his action.

He smiled at me and gently ruffled my hair and kissed me in my forehead as he looked at my mom and I can see that she is also against my dad but afraid, to tell the truth.

"I'll be back. Stay here!" he squeezed my hands as he smiles for me and also kissed my mom's forehead and walk towards the man who is happily laughing while watching the mess.

I watched him walked towards the man and as I saw him in that situation it gave pang on my chest.

I looked at my mom and I saw a glint of anger in her eyes while looking at the man who is laughing over my father.

I silently closed my eyes and pray, I felt my mom holding my hand.

She gave me an assuring smile that gives me hope and courage.

"He is not my Superman for nothing," I said while holding my mom's hand impenetrable.

"He is brave. He will return for us," my mom said while looking at my dad.

I smiled silently and caressed her hand that made her smile.

I glimpsed at my dad once and frightens conquer my heart when I saw that the gun was pointing at him. Without hesitation, I stood up and run towards him.

"Aryl!" I heard my mom calling my name but I am too afraid for my dad's safety.

"Daddy!" I shouted and caught his attention.

"No Aryl!" And the events go faster and I can feel his arms that surround my body.

A blasting gunshot filled the whole lobby and I'm alarmed and the underlying horror ate me when I saw him with the blood that rushes to his lips. I heard another three loud gunshots and I saw how daddy tried to smile due to the pain he was felt.

"Daddy!" I exclaimed but he smiled and caressed my cheeks. My eyes were filled by the overflowing tears but he smiles saying he's okay.

"I l-love... I love y-you, my P-princess," he said while stuttering and he gave his full strength to kiss my forehead that made my tears flow.

"No, dad!" I said while holding his suit that was covered with his blood.

"Daddy!" I shouted as I felt his hands slowly gripping in my hands.

"D-daddy, no! You need to survive." I cried and hugged his body that is now coated with a crimson red liquid that was from his open wound.

I looked to the man's direction but there wasn't a traced of him in that area.

I embraced his lifeless body that was coated with his blood and kiss his cheeks while sitting behind his body.

"Rodrigo!" my mom rushes to his side and I stop myself from crying when I saw her eyes with tears that flow out in her eyes.

She laid down behind him and hugged the lifeless man in front of us. She glanced at me with undistinguishable anger and madness in her eyes.

"Look what you've done! " she burst in tears while her fuming mad eyes was in me.

"You killed him!" she added and I ran away with my eyes shred in tears because of what I've heard from her.

"You killed him!"

"You killed him!"

"You killed him!"

The echoes that were repeating in my mind that cause me to stop running and everything went blank.

"I killed him, yeah right! I killed my knight and my king..."
