I Am Your Mate

Here I am standing at the center of the clearing with silver chains in my hands. Wolves are encircling me  with smirk on their faces. Some of them either laugh, snicker or spit at me as if I'm the dirtiest person alive.  I didn't really care tho. a smirk plastered in my face as Nathan look at me smugly. He will be the one who will execute me and end my life. 

As if he could end it.

He walk towards but stop meters away from me. 

"This clod human shall be punished for disrespecting our pack and your Alpha. Death is enough to pay for her mistake." Nathan said as the crowd yelled in approval and howled.

I roll my eyes. 

"I Nathan Wood, future Alpha and leader of Blackmoon Pack, the strongest pack in this country. Is here by announcing Kanisha Waters the human who insulted us, the mighty wolves created by the Moon Goddess. Insulting us means insulting our Moon Goddess, we should not tolerate this kind of behavior and we should teach her a lesson and make her as an example to the few humans here. ohh werewolves are the mightiest!!!" Nat announced to the wolves here as the crowd rawred with excitement. They really like killing people, aren't they? Why does this Moon Goddess makes me his mate anyways. Ugh

He slowly walk towards me with his eyes look straight at me as his long and sharp claws started to pop out of his fingers and his long white teeth canines are baring at me, ready to kill me. Before he reached at me I said something that shocked them.

"I never thought you would to this to me, you said you would do everything to protect me. I am your mate." As I said those words Nathan stop in his track and some of the audience gasped. I saw Nat's eyes is changing from blue to black. I guess he is fighting with his wolf.

"You are not my mate!" Nathan yelled and growl at me.

Ouch. That hurt me a little bit. This is why I have trust issues. People's feelings are always changing, I'm lucky I have Cora by my side. I'm so dissapointed at Nathan.

"Yeah right, I mean If I'm not your Mate then why did you kidnap me?'' After I said that the crowd once again gasped. I mean who wouldn't. "Well, as you have said that I'm not your mate. I am thankful." I take a deep breath. "Because a monster like you did not deserve any love from a mate. How I wish you will rot in hell all alone, forever!" I yell and let out a hiss. 

I could see the shock in Nat's eyes as he's trying to control himself and I saw his eyes are now in complete black.  Nathan growled with his pitch black eyes staring at me ready to pounce any moment. He ran towards me with his claws up ahead to slice up my throat and ready to kill me but  was stop when a silver arrow hit his right shoulder. I only stay in my spot, not moving an inch. 

The crowd went wild as Nat is now holding his bleeding shoulder. Jack and Drake rush into Nat's side and here I am laughing in my butt.

Then, one man came running  towards us from behind shouting an intruder attack. Maybe he is one of the guards on duty. Hmm.

A loud bang echoed in the clearing and the man who is shouting stops in his track and fall down. Behind him stands Cora in her motorcycle with my Duffel bag. She's so cool right now.

The crowd cowered back to Nathan's side but they're on there attack mode, I think they're waiting for Nat's order. I look around and notice that their attention is now focus on Cora. As she's now a threat more than I am. I slowly creep aside when I saw Jack staring at Cora intently not caring to anyone  even when Nat forcefully pull the arrow from his shoulder as blood is dripping over. 

I instantly run towards Cora and hop to the back and she fueled the engine aggressively. Cora drives fastly before anyone can react.

I saw Jack ran towards us as well with the other males in the pack. 

Cora drives like a wind as they follow us in their now change wolf form and chase us but we still manage to advance them until they were out of sight but before that I saw Jack shift back to his human form and shouted 'Mate'.

Mate?  Cora is Jack's Mate?  gosh this is getting out of hand. What does the Moon Goddess thinking. It makes this situation more complicated. I don't want Cora to be involved  in that stupid pack and also Jack hated humans, I don't even want to think what would he do to Cora. Even Nat is rude to me. 

Sigh. 

Cora never stops driving until we are safe from them and we decided to find a hotel first so we could take a rest cuz the night is coming and still I haven't eaten anything just a small portion of the breakfast Berry gave me. 

So we found this cheap hotel a little farther away but good thing there's a restaurant beside the hotel and also from the location of Nat's pack. I'm also starving ugh. I need food asap. 

We check in first and go to the restaurant to eat.  We sit at the very corner as there's only a little customers here. We just ordered pizza, burger, fries and a coke. This is enough tho. I don't need to be so full. I might not be able to get up tomorrow. 

"So what do we do next?" Cora asked me. I shrug. 

"Let's take a rest first and let's decide in the morning." I said. 

Our food arrived and we dig in. As we are eating I could see the troubled face of Cora. 

"Are you okay?" I asked her. 

"Yeah, I'm fine." Cora ignore me then and continue to eat. 

After our dinner we go back to the hotel and ensure that no one is following or watching us. We never know the ability of those wolves but I just want to take a rest. My back hurts from the hard floor of the cell. 

I slump into the soft bed as soon as I enter the room and Cora rested in the couch.

"How did you enter the pack territory without getting noticed by the guards?" I asked her. I'm still curious how did she do it. 

"I covered my scent." She simply said as she close her eyes due to exhaustion but roughly stood up and went to me and gave me a 

piece of wood made into a pendant. "Wear it, it will cover your scent." She retreated back to her seat.

"A piece of wood?" I ask sarcastically as I look at the pendant. 

"It's not just a wood Sha. It is blessed by a witch to help cover the scent." She said lazily and close her eyes.

"Ohhh. A witch." There's so many strange things going on, really. I sit up and look at her. She open her eyes and look at me. "Cora, what are you?"

"I'm an assassin." She said smirking at me. 

"You know what I mean. Now say it." I argued. 

She sigh.

"I'm half werewolf half human, a hunter." She cocked her head to the side and here I am shocked as ever.

"Wow, amazing, then I guess Jack is your mate huh." I said smugly as I imagine him and Cora together. Yuck. 

"Jack?" She ask with raised eyebrow.

"The one that look like Jack Frost." I said and she was like 'ohhhh'.

"Maybe, I don't know but I don't really care. I have lots of business to do than to be with him and his cruel pack." She snickered. "and that Alpha is an asshole, no offence Sha."

"Correction,  future Alpha. He's using me to get his Alpha title already and now he wanted my dead body, how irony." I shrugged as I remember the moments Nat and I share. 

"So, what are you Sha?" Cora ask me the same question I asked her. 

I look at her seriously. I doubted if I should tell her or not. 

"An assassin, you must better get away before I rip your head off." I said and glare at her.

We burst out laughing.

"Seriously? Come on tell me." She whines.

"Ok, oky, I'm a ----" I was disturb as Cora's cellphone rings. I think I'm gonna keep it a secret for a while. 

She grab her phone and check who's the caller. I could see her face panicked. I think this is not good. 

"Who is it?" I asked.  I'm kinda concern if it's Nat or that Jack is calling.  I remember that Nat investigate my identity so it wouldn't be a surprise if he knew Cora's number. 

"Fin Association."
