Chapter 3: The Bet

Sakura’s POV

Morning came, and I am eating breakfast with Seiya. He is handsome while eating his breakfast.

When I woke up, I thought of winning Seiya’s heart, but not the desperate approach. Just watch me. Besides, Seiya is within my reach now.

"I'm finish eating," Seiya said.

Ok, dear. Sakura, go with Seiya. You have the same destination anyway,"

"Ok, auntie. We will be going now,"

"Goodbye and take care both of you,"

Siya just went out and didn't say goodbye to his mom. He is so rude.

"Wait for me Seiya”

"I have rules. One, do not tell that we are living together. Two, distance yourself from me. Lastly, mind your own business,"

"Ok, but can I tell my friend Rose? She is a trusted friend of mine,"

"Very well,"

When we arrived at the university, we separate ways, and I went to my classroom. Exams are near, and I need to focus and study.

The exam schedules are out, and I copied it to my notes.

"Sakura, you are seriously copying the schedule,"

"Yup, because I need to pass and I have a goal, and that is to be on the Dean's list,"

"Wow. You are not like that, Sakura. What made you think about that?"

"I just thought of it because I'm a graduating student. I need to have high grades in all subjects. I hate studying, but I need to study hard starting later,"

"That's the spirit,"

When I arrive home, I went straight to my room and study.

“Sakura, have some snacks first. You cannot focus on your studies if you have an empty stomach,"

"Ok. Thank you, auntie,"

"You sure are serious on your studies,"

“Uhum because I want to be included in the Dean's list this time,"

"Ok, good luck with that. Ah Sakura, can you give these snacks to Seiya because I need to go out for a bit?”

"Ok, auntie,"

I grab the snacks and went to Seiya’s room. I knocked when I arrive.

"Come in,"

“Ah Seiya, your mom told me to give this snacks to you,"

"Just put it there,"

"Ok. I'm leaving now,"

Seiya is studying hard. I also saw books about organs and such. Maybe he will become a doctor someday. If he would be a doctor, then I'm lucky because I want to be a Psychiatrist. I want to be a Psychiatrist because I want to study human brains and to help people with mental illness. I imagined working in the same hospital as Seiya.

The next day, I thought of telling the truth to Rose.

"Rose, I need to tell you a secret,"

"What is it, Sakura?"

"Don't be shocked, ok? I'm living with Seiya,"

“What?”

“Shh, don't shout,"

“Why are you living with him?”

“My father was attacked by loan sharks the other day, and we don't have a place to stay because they took our house, so we need to live at my father's friend's house. I didn't know that my father's friend is Seiya’s father,"

"Ah, so that explains it. You are lucky Sakura,"

"I guess. Don't say it to anyone, ok? Because Seiya will kill me,"

"Ok, my mouth is zip,"

That night I studied hard. I was studying this topic, but I can't understand. I'm going to ask Seiya.

Seiya’s POV

I am in my room studying when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in,"

“Seiya?”

"Sakura. Do you know the rules? Do I need to repeat it?"

"I know it, Seiya, but can you please teach me about this topic? I can't understand,"

“Ok”

I am teaching Sakura. She is listening to me, and I'm glad that she understand it quickly. She is now solving something. I watched her side profile. She is beautiful, but I don't like her in a romantic way. She makes me work.

"I think I'm ready for the exams tomorrow. I want my name to be in the Dean's list,"

“Really?”

“Yup. Want to bet with that?”

“Sure”

"Ok. If I win, I'm free to approach and talk to you,"

"Agreed. And if you lose, do not approach me and mind your own business,"

“Agreed”

We shake our hands after that.

Sakura’s POV

It’s exam day today. I’m a bit nervous.

"Please begin,"

When I read the questionnaire, I felt happy because I studied almost all of it. I'm lucky. I confidently answered all the questions.

One week later.

The Dean's list is posted on the bulletin board. I ran and search for my name, and I'm happy because I'm in 30^th place. Seiya is still at 1^st place. I saw Seiya approaching.

“Congratulations Seiya for being in 1^st place again,"

“Congratulations also for being in 30^th place," 

"So I won the bet,"

"Ok. You are free to approach and talk to me starting today," Seiya said while staring at his side. Feeling disappointed.

“Yehey”
