This weekend should remain our only group experience of eight. We all agreed that it was beautiful, but that we didn't want to mess up the memory by repeating it. We met more often on the nudist beach but more or less by chance and almost never at full strength and there was certainly no 'party afterwards'.
Renate soon separated from Guido. She had been invited by Jürgen, who had passed his motorcycle license. The first outing on his new used car had brought them together. At some point in the blue hour she told Maria that Jürgen's tail was just as long as Guidos, but considerably thinner. That took away her fear.
Helga went to America. She went on vacation to Utah and there she met and fell in love with a Mormon. She became his second wife and now has five children.
Monika is no longer with Gerd either. After more than five years together, both found other partners and are now happily married. Just not with each other.
I don't know what happened to the others. After the teaching we lost sight of each other.
And Maria?
Maria sits next to me and proofreads what has been written.
"That was a great weekend, wasn't it?"
I could only agree with her. Then we undressed and made love on our old sofa bed. One should keep beautiful memories.
