"W-what?!" Anyle screamed into the phone. She felt like her whole world had stumbled down right in front of her.

"Hurry up!" Summer screamed back. "She hasn't gotten sucked but she's too shocked to move. I'm on a video call with her right now but she's not responding. You know it's far from here so please do something."

"What's wrong?" Jack rushed to her, grasping her shoulders.

Her phone automatically fell from her hands as they began to vibrate. Her eyes became widely open as she panted and sweat beads formed on her forehead.

Anyle involuntarily threw Jack's hands from her shoulders and started to storm out of the room, running as fast as her legs could carry her while Jack definitely ran after her.

She wasn't thinking straight. What? Thinking straight? She wasn't even in the position to think of anything. Her mother, Sheryl, was all that she had left and she couldn't lose her.

In the normal sense, no matter how much Anyle was to run, she was never going to catch up because where her mother lived was quite far away from here. If she took her car, she was going to arrive there in at least 35 minutes.

"Wait!" Jack caught up with her and firmly gripped her hand, stopping her from running any further. "What happened?"

"Mo- mom!" She was panting like a hungry lion that had run for days. "She— she's— the Earth's suckage…"

"Okay?" Jack nodded, encouraging her to keep talking and cupped her cheeks.

"It's happening where she is!" She rushed out, she was more alarmed and wanted to run again but Jack was quick to hold her arms.

"Let me be!" She screamed, hitting his chest with her fists as she tried to escape from his grip.

"Calm down." He blew air from his mouth. "Listen to me, you can't get there anytime soon." He informed her.

"Get out!" She pushed him forcefully and continued to run.

Jack followed after her and held her from behind, pulling her with him then opened his car's door and threw her in.

"Are you mad?!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.

"I'll get us there in no time." He stated.

Anyle couldn't hold her horses. She was huffing and puffing at short intervals. She scrunched her hair in her hands due to frustration and worry. Her heart was palpitating as fast as ever. "Nothing's going to happen to mom." She muttered, trying to convince herself as she breathed heavily through her mouth and nose.

Jack was driving really fast, as fast as he had ever driven and in no time, he arrived at his laboratory.

"What? Are you crazy?!" She hollered when he parked the car in front of the building. "Don't tell me to foolishly wait till you find some stupid and useless machine to fix the earth?" Rude, yeah, but who cares? Her mother's life was in danger!

Slightly offended by her words, he chose to remain patient. "I have a teleportation machine." He announced then hopped out of the car at the same time as her.

"Really?!" She shouted more than she intended to then started to run into the laboratory room as well as him.

Jack rushed to the room for his huge and small machines then located the 'Teleportation Machine'. Anyle was very impatient while he turned it on; it felt like her mother was dying and she was doing nothing.

"Ready?" He was also breathing heavily then he ran to Anyle, hugging her tightly.

In nothing more than three seconds, a bright and massive ball of blue light exploded from the machine and hit the hugging couple's skin.

After a very loud electrocuting and zapping sound, the massive ball of blue light shrunk with them then reappeared right in front of Sheryl, Anyle's mother's house, returning their figures to its normal size.

Anyle's eyes were tightly shut during the process with her head buried in Jack's chest. She slowly opened her eyes, slightly happy to see herself here.

Without a second thought, she barged into the house, finding her mother sitting right on the living room's chair, staring at the television with the live news announcing what was happening in this city.

Sheryl was too shocked to move. She couldn't believe her eyes. Summer was still on a video-call with her through her laptop but Sheryl still wasn't responding.

"Mom!" She screamed, running towards her mother.

Sheryl was finally able to move, turning her head to Anyle and Jack's direction. "Anyle? You're here? How?" Tears immediately clouded her eyes.

"That's not important, let's go!" She declared, holding Sheryl's hands, lifting her up and starting to dash out of the house.

Jack caught up with them as they ran on the street then he held Anyle's other hand, running very fast with both women.

"What do we do?!" He screamed.

The fading of the Earth was behind them. It seemed like a very broad black blanket that was going behind them and it was sounding like an extremely heavy rain

"Mom, just keep on running, okay?!" She screamed so her voice could be heard over the loud noise of fading behind them.

The big black fading of the Earth behind them was sucking different people and properties around as others kept screaming while they ran from it.

"Mom!" Jack screamed when Sheryl just for some REASON happened to stumble on a very stupidly irrelevant stone on the floor, falling face flat to the floor because they couldn't hold her before she fell.

"Mom!" She screamed. "No! No!" The Earth's fading was becoming closer at every second. "Please get up." She cried.

Sheryl bones felt weak and broken, she couldn't move. "Run, my child!" She warned. "Just leave me, I was about to die anyways." Sheryl cried.

"No, ma!" Anyle's eyes were completely glassy as tears were streaming from them. "Don't you dare give up." She was trying to lift Sheryl from off the ground.

"Just go!" Sheryl frowned.

"Anyle! Mom can't get up anytime soon." Jack stated the obvious, holding Anyle's hand and started to run with her.

"Are you crazy?! Mom, no!" She screamed as she tried to wiggle herself from his grip.

Jack continued to race extremely fast whilst tugging Anyle behind him.

A tear-drop rolled down Sheryl's cheek then she flashed her daughter a sad grin. There was no way she could get up. She was suffering from different conditions and she wasn't going to be able to walk properly if she managed to stand thereby slowing her daughter down and costing her life.

Anyle had her gaze fixed to her mother as she shook her head negatively. Jack wasn't letting go of her no matter how hard she tried.

Anyle got extremely aggravated then she kicked Jack from behind then kicked him in the balls. She started to run faster than ever, trying to catch up with Sheryl than the fading behind her. Jack ran after her again.

Like a crazy horror movie, darkness clouded over her mother's behind like a very big shadow over her.

Anyle was very fast enough then she held Sheryl's hand. Like a vacuum cleaner with pointed teeth and cloudy hands, the fading started to suck Sheryl right into its darkness, while Anyle yanked at her mother's hand; Sheryl's lower half had been sucked.

"Anyle, let go!" Sheryl and Jack said in unison while Jack held Anyle's hand, yanking her backwards forcefully which made her hand slip from Sheryl's then both of them fell to the floor with their butts harshly grinding against the floor.

"No!" She cried, covering her mouth with her hands as the earth sucked Sheryl completely, calling her into the darkness of its fading.

Surprisingly, the fading stopped right at Anyle's feet. It formed something like a very high black wall which seemed like a wall of darkness.

Anyle and Jack both raised their heads to view the high wall in front of them that didn't seem to end. It was way higher than the sky.

"Mom," she said with a cracky voice and started sobbing. "No, no." She sniffed, crying her eyes out in her palms.

"Anyle, I'm sorry." Jack sheepishly apologized, reluctantly placing his hands on her back and shoulder. "I'm almost done with the machine I'm working on and I'll finally find a way to fix this fading, I promise to bring your mother back." He promised.

Anyle raised her head and her eyes shimmered with sadness, pain, and mostly fury. She glared at him venomously then bounced to her feet then he did the same.

"Your stupid machine isn't going to work, okay?!" She barked.

'Genxor is experiencing horror right now and only you, Norex, can save Genxor, therefore, saving the earth.' she immediately remembered Amelia's voice.

"Amelia, that child," She breathed out, nodding her head.

"What?!" He frowned. "Don't tell me you're going to believe the little child's stupid fairy tale. All what she said is shit!" He exclaimed angrily.

Anyle frowned at him then eyed him from head to toe. "Take us home, now!" She ordered.

"This is crazy!" He hissed.

"I said now!" She raised her voice.

***

Anyle and Jack alighted the public bus they had boarded back home.

The duo had remained silent throughout the drive. They both stood on the pavement, still silent as the bus drove past them.

"So… I hope you're back to your senses." He scratched the back of his neck nervously.

The glare Anyle shot him was enough to make an entire market go quiet.

She heaved a sigh then looked towards her left and right twice before running towards her left direction. Once again, Jack ran behind her.

Despite the fact that she was totally clueless of where she was heading to, she still continued running around. She needed to find Amelia, even though it seemed and sounded ridiculous to her.

***

Anyle and Jack had been running around the town and it was already in the evening but they hadn't seen any sign of Amelia, yet she hadn't given up.

"Can you stop this?" Jack frowned, repeating his words for the umpteenth time.

"You better shut your mouth 'cos you're getting on my nerves." She warned through gritted teeth.

"Anyle!" He groaned.

"Thank you so much, Mister." Anyle's ears stifled on hearing that annoying voice which sounded quite adorable to her at the moment. Her eyes snapped in the direction of the voice and landed on none other than Amelia.

"Amelia!" She exclaimed, running to Amelia that rested against a tree with a cone of ice-cream on her tongue and hands.

Amelia's eyes widened in amusement on seeing her. "Oh, hello?" She smirked, then handed the cone of ice-cream to the man that stood in front of her and wearing a grin. "Thank you, sir." She said to him.

She bounced right in front of Anyle and grinned widely.

"What is it that you were talking about the other time?" Anyle said in a rush, holding the little girl's shoulders.

"Chill, man." Amelia giggled, licking from off her lips the ice cream that stained her lips, then glanced over at Jack before returning her eyes to Anyle. "Have you made up your mind? Please say yes because I really need to go back to Genxor."

"My mother got sucked into the Earth's fading, will I be able to get her back?" She knew it sounded so stupid to ask a young child for help but hey, common, there's no crime in trying, is there?

"Probably," she shrugged before quickly adding, "— I mean, yes!" She nodded.

"Okay." Anyle exhaled, lacing her fingers. "What do I need to do?" It was seeming more stupid to her to trust the child and the whole thing wasn't even making any sense to her but she was still going to see where it was heading to.

Amelia smirked, "Get ready because we're about to dive into the adventure of the world in which you're the Mekwow, Genxor."
