View MoreMonday.-- Isoken was currently in the classroom where she and Emmanuel had that embarrassing encounter, which was a few months back. She would have loved to reminisce about it, despite it being an embarrassing situation, but now was not the time. She and Emmanuel made plans to meet in this classroom, as her mind kept saying she should tell him personally and so she stylishly prolonged her confession till Monday; even though she could have said it on Saturday while they were still on the call. The call began with pleasantries, before Emmanuel asked about what had been bugging him, it went like this… "Hello…" The sound of his deep but manly voice, made her feel jitters. "Hi…" She was shocked to hear her own self speak without stuttering. "Isoken, how are you?" Whenever he called her
In another part of Asaba, miles away from Isoken's house. A gigantic mansion was standing tall on a particular spot, it was a beautiful sight. This mansion could be easily spotted among all the other beautiful houses located in that area. This was Emmanuel's house. Saturday.--Emmanuel woke-up to the familiar atmosphere at home. His parents were not home again, like every other day. He couldn't say he understood them, when he didn't. At least he had a family that provided for him and checked-up on him every once in a while. She said, then looked at him. "Did you scream last night?" He asked. "No, I was just whispering to myself." Isoken muttered what he had said previously while mimicking him. "Stop it! I don't sound like that." Femi said. *Pak*--Isoken was hit on her shoulder by Mrs Johnson, "Ouch, mom!" "Is that how you talk to your elder brother now?" Mrs Johnson asked. "No," Isoken said while muttering "He's just older than me with a few years, not like Tade and
"Hey there! My name is David." After saying this he smiled, but Isoken didn't reciprocate. She was in a bad mood; She just wanted to be left alone and wasn't ready to talk to anybody. "Isoken." She said her name while removing his hand that blocked her view, then resumed what she was doing. He put his hands together behind his back, as it was evident that she had rejected his hand shake, "So I guess that you aren't a fan of handshakes, eh?" He asked. He looked at Isoken who continued on scribbling, all he received was silence. "Hugger then?" He asked but still received silence as an answer. It was quiet again for a few minutes. Isoken relished this silence because it seemed like nature made her bad mood disappear.&n
