2020-11-12 23:23:26Since the event was to take place in the evening we both attended our classes as usual.
When evening came I was so anxious. I had never been to an important event and I was worried that I would either embarrass myself or Nadia.
Nadia seemed to have noticed this as she spoke,"come down Clara. Nothing will go wrong. Just relax. Breathe in and out. ""I'm sorry Nadia I just don't want to ruin your image or embarrass myself ""And you won't embarrass yourself. Stop worrying too much. All you have to do is stay by my side and you will be fine"We got dressed then left for the event. We were ushered into a black limousine which was waiting for us outside.
"Hi George. This is Clara my friend. Clara this is George" Nadia introduced
"Hi George. Nice to meet you. "I said politely shaking George's hand.
"Nice to meet you too Miss Clara".George said flashing me a smile
The drive to the event was short and quiet. Nadia kept reassuring me that all would be well. We finally arrived .George helped us out of the limousine and excused himself to go park it.
"well here goes" I thought to my self as I entered the venue.
To say the place was beautiful would be an understatement. There were different types of roses all over the place .It was elegantly decorated with lights of different colors. It was breathtaking to say the least.
Mark's Pov
I hurried to my house to get changed after my meeting since I had a charity event to attend. As soon as I entered my house I stepped out of my previous clothes and changed into a designer suit which was black in color with black leather shoes and a red neck tie.
I got into my black Lamborghini and drove off. I quickly arrived at the venue and parked my car.
The media took multiple pictures of me as I walked in as always ."Mark you made it. "Greeted Joanna the host of the event.
"well I had to come since I had promised you I would. How have you been?" I asked giving her a hug.
"I'm good .welcome "
" Thank you"
I went in and greeted my friends as well as most business men who attended. Most of whom wanted to do business with my company MM Corporation.
As I was talking to my friends I noticed a very beautiful woman. She wore a red gown that accentuated her curves. The dress hung a little lower showing a bit of cleavage. She looked stunning with her brown orbs.
She was standing next to another woman who was also in a red gown. I excused myself from my friends and headed to where they were standing.
"Hello ladies?" I greeted them
"Hi Mark".The first lady answered turning to face me and I immediately recognized her as Nadia. The daughter of Mr and Mrs McKenzie, owners of the best jewelry stores in the country.
"Nadia right?
"Yeah that's me"she answered.
"And who's the beautiful lady with you? "I asked staring at her.
"Mark this is Clara my friend and Clara this is Mark. The country's richest bachelor".She said gesturing at me making Clara laugh. Her laugh Was The best sound I've ever heard.
"Nice to meet you Mark."Clara said stretching out her hand.
"Nice to meet you too Clara"I said shaking her outstretched hand. Her hands were so soft I wondered if her mouth would be too. I knew I would find out sooner or later. As a businessman I understand the invaluable importance of timing.
Eventually the party ended and we both went their separate ways.
I couldn't sleep that night.
He kept thinking of Cara. There was something about her when she smiled. Something brilliant. It appealed to me the way her voice did when she spoke.I decided that I had to see her again.
