My mother had called me to her room the night before the party to give me her instructions. I wasn’t to dance with any boy, leave the hall without telling the teacher, drink something I didn’t know the whereabouts of and many more rules. By the time she was done, she then asked me for what I planned to wear tomorrow.‘I don’t know mommy. I’ll probably pick the first thing I see in my wardrobe.’ That was a lie.
