31. Family Bond

Leo swore to protect them in this life because 2 years back when he was 13 he had severe infection and fever for 10 straight days in the winter vacation. Even though he was admitted and cured of the disease, he could still remember his brother and sister trying everything they can to ensure his survival.
Ethan 8 right then and he had to rush out of the house and find Jordan by his house. It was snow-covered area and he still didn't know how Ethan managed to cross 5 kilometers by foot and reach Jordan's house.
When Leo had asked Jordan's Father on how Ethan found him, he was left with a shock that when Jordan's Father Jack found Ethan. It was in front of his house in the middle of the night when he came back from work.
Jack knew who Ethan was since he had come over several times to play with Jordan. And he was rather fond of the boy too. But when he saw him dragging himself towards his house while shivering and drenched with frostbite forming up he was speechless.
He quickly ran over to help the kid and when Ethan saw his face all he muttered was " Save... Big Brother ... in ... Danger ... Home". Jack knew something was wrong and he quickly called the emergency department at the hospital he worked at.
Jack then quickly sent over Ethan and made his way towards Leo's home and found both the kids were unconscious. He didn't want to see his best friend's kids die in front of him and took them to the hospital.
Erza took care of him for the entire day by his side and tried reading him stories and giving him warm water and whatever food they had left. she didn't even eat for a whole day and she never complained about it to him afterward.
All 3 kids were admitted and while was erza was just unconscious due to lack of food and overexertion it was still dangerous for a kid of 7 years old.
When Leo heard the full story he was even scolded by jack because he didn't inform him that he was sick. Jack could have made arrangements for them if Leo had informed him of it.
Family Bond is a mysterious thing that ties humans together and is one of the core principles of humanity. Leo reminisced about his past and made an eternal vow to protect his family and friends in this life.
Leo when he regained his memories he gained 8 other different train of thoughts and one of them made him slightly cautious towards his siblings as he didn't want to be betrayed. It was now that when he fought for them that he understood Charles his 8th Reincarnate never hated his brother Lucifer for the betrayal.
Charles and lucifer had a great brotherhood since little and it was only when they grew older that a distance formed between them. Lucifer being the Dark Being's 8th Reincarnate was mysterious and till the end, Charles still loved his brother like he always did. The only thing he wanted to know was why as the 8th reincarnation could have ended differently.
But this was not the case with other reincarnations as Lucas, Arthur and Xavier didn't like the feeling of being betrayed and their feelings insisted on Leo being careful.
When Leo was being confused by all the other thoughts, a motherly warm light entered his consciousness and swept the other feelings away as a few words entered his mind, "This is your life, Live it to its fullest. But never regret your actions."
Soon all the distracting thoughts left his mind as he calmed down and made up his mind. He thanked the warm light as he guessed who helped him.
When Leo was finally near the area Erza and Ethan were fighting a group of 4 [Fierce Tigers], Leo unsheathed his blades as he rushed in to help his family.
Then the trio kept on clearing the area of the fierce tigers to farm experience for themselves. Soon they all leveled up once as even Ethan reached level 9 while Erza had 30% filled in and Leo had 45% filled in.
As they roamed the HighPlains the found quite some good equipment were given to Ethan and Erza as Leo is almost fully Equipped. There were only 30 minutes left for them before they had to log out. And Leo noted that grinding a little more could help them reach Level.10.
Seeing the rate of exp gained he sighed as would probably not level up today and have to wait till tomorrow to level up. Just when they were discussing among themselves on what to have for dinner. They heard a Tiger's Roar spread across the HighPlains. In the distance was a huge tiger which was twice as tall as them. It let out a roar once again as it slowly made its way towards them.

Although this was supposed to be a major event in each village as the Region Boss was something which would give the players an edge when they go for the city next. Due to the trio, it was triggered early and only the 3 of them heard the announcement.
Leo got serious and was worried that other players in the region might come for the boss or at least report it in the forums. If more players come here then it will lead to a mad scramble for the first kill of the boss and its rewards.
But his seriousness was a joke as no other players were in the region and the ones that did come in were killed by him. And the rest of the players were still low leveled to even step foot into this region. The mainstream players were currently Level 6 and the Elites were at Level7. This made his worries for naught.
