She closes her eyes

& turns away

From her darkened room

every day

Because she knows she’ll see things

& she knows what they’ll say

She hides in her bed

Deep under the covers

She doesn’t trust what she hears

Not even her mothers

Voice, as her face peers

Down at her

Because she knows better

Than to infer

That what she sees is real

Even as she hears the peel

Of child's laughter

Coming from her mother's face

As it grows fatter

& she wants to pace

As far away

As she can

But it grows closer

& before she can muster Anything

Not even a scream

She feels it creep

Beneath her skin

& it’s like she’s in

A furnace

& she knows she can’t keep this Clear of a thought any longer

Then she’s a goner

Cause it has taken over

& her mind has started to spill over The rim in her head

& though she never left her bed When they find her she’ll already be dead

  • Poetry   Permanence

You wanted to permanently carve your existence into meI’ll tell you now your permanence is temporaryYou’ll stay with me through January maybe FebruarySeasons change so do time and placeAnd it seems I’ve forgotten your faceYou thought I’d hold you high in a glass caseBut from the very beginningYour existence for me held no meaningAnd me? I’m still teamingWith the independence to rule a nationAnd you’re just a figment of my imaginationNot any kind of limitationBecause I’m a person of my own creationI am permanently meAnd in my life you are temporaryAs such you can’t scare meI’m my own guardian fairyAnd you’re forever temporary &n

  • Poetry   Inherited Identity

(Inherited Identity)What It’s Like to Be an involuntary mother(for those of you that aren’t)She was a sister second-A mother and protector firstShe didn't do it by choice-Though some would say she did.For her there wasn't a choice-Her sister needed someoneShe just stepped up to the task.Feeding her, changing diapers. She did all the things a mother would. She didn't hate it even if it wasn't a choice-She felt the love a mother would. She did all the things a mother could-Giving her sister motherly love like she knew she should Raising a child from anothers womb.Only four years older-She didn't try to be bolderThan she already had been.Combing hair, getting dressed-She did these things for herself less and less. She wasn't the first one on her mind-She didn't let herself be one of a kind. She bec

  • Poetry   Friends

NadyaThe light of the stars shines in her eyes Certain we can't count the nights she's cried Still every morning she gets up and smilesIf freckles be the kiss of angelsThen she carries more love than fairAround her a rosey smell floats on the airShe runs her fingers through her dark brown hair Eyes like the drops of dew seen on a petal of a blue poppyA mind stronger than the trials she undergoes A voice that beautifly ebbs and flowsA kindness in her heart like no one knowsMorganneAn energy like no otherBubbly beyond compareShe brings you up with just a smile I swearHer hair waves to the rhythmShe must be feeling as she laughs Even still she may have a heart of glass Eyes like emeralds covered in gold Hiding secrets to be left untoldLike a rose grown unbiddenShe's someone I’d never wish to be rid of

  • Poetry   Landscape

These cliffsCut deep into the earth Like the wrinkles Carved upon my face And as the sun rises I’m remindedof opening my eyesThe grass grows Like prisms of green Covering the ground And the sky Refracts around me Like a million mirrors Filled with sapphiresA breeze blows Moving the clouds And the tree’s leaves Dance in the wind Billowing to the rhythm I feel deep withinThe waves crashed Against the shore As thoughThey had no other way To release their pent up EnergyThe spray Sparkling like diamonds As it hit the airindeed
