  • Project: Scarlet   Chapter 16

It was 8 pm, just like we scheduled. The group was actually on time so we had the chance to get straight to business. Artemis was standing kind of close to me, closer than usual and every time I looked at her, she just smiled. I'm not uncomfortable with her or anything, it was just...I don't know. No I do. It was...Nevermind then, I don’t actually Fucking know.

  • Project: Scarlet   Chapter 15

It was Saturday morning. The day of our battle. I woke up nervous about what the day had to offer. Artemis had texted me, asking to come over. The past two days, she hasn't been able to look me in the eyes without her face turning or getting finicky,She wouldn't stop fidgeting. I don't know what that's about, maybe she's been nervous about the whole plan. I can't lie and say I'm exactly calm myself.

We started texting that night about the information we had gotten. Xana revealed that the woman they escorted was indeed the manager named Semani. They had guided her all the way to the back of the restaurant to her office. They weren't allowed inside but on the door was a small rune carved into the wooden door on the bottom. When the door closed, the rune glowed a deep crimson. Luka apparently had tried to open the door again but the knob had burned his hand so all he could do was listen to the inside. According to them both, the Conversation went as so:

Wednesday had come. Luka has told our group to wear something nice, make it look like we belong. He said that he will handle getting staff uniforms for that day. As I buttoned up my dark grey shirt in the morning. Thalia appeared behind me, her cold hands held my waist. I tried to break her hands off of me but I couldn't. Together, we looked into the mirror, her eyes wandered up and down on my figure and face. Her smile was almost comforting to a certain extent, as she held me against her. Her hands had felt so wrong on my body.

We returned to break on the first of December. The air started becoming more crisp and chilly. I definitely need a jacket everyday now, the wind has gotten rid of my usual. The group had met up in the morning , before class time so we could discuss our next steps after we entered the fight. I sit in the cafeteria at an empty table, waiting for everyone else to come. Of course I'm the early one. My legs bounce in anticipation.

  • Project: Scarlet   Chapter 11

I woke up the next morning. I woke up in my bedroom with the sun shining through my curtains. The window was left open, allowing the breeze to flow through like an open dam. The wind had kept me comfortable in my hoodie all night, no reason to take it off. To be honest, I don't remember falling asleep last night, I must've been exhausted from the long conversations I had. I felt loose though. Like my brain wasn't secure. My eyelids laid heavy while I checked my phone. A sense of emptiness. I had about 8 messages from Artemis since I didn't text or reply to her all evening. I text her explaining that I wasn't feeling well and couldn't really text her that much because of it. I carry on with my morning in hopes of feeling better. I began cooking breakfast for my father and I, just some eggs with bacon and toasts. The kitchen and living room were connected so the sun shined brightly, submerging the house in yellow. Soon, my father's footst
