They were welcomed by Feng Tao who was assigned as the manor's head housekeeper, everyone was in awe with their masters new place. Upon opening the large red wooden gates they were welcomed by the man made pond, the walls of each courtyard are painted white and all roof are black giving an elegant and peaceful feeling as the trees and plants were highlighted. As they walk through the new manor Feng Tao explained the layout there are five courtyards aside from the three courtyards for the female, male servants and Physician Li.
The largest one is called Huang (Phoenix) courtyard in north part of the manor where Qi Chen and Xi Hui will reside. There are two courtyards with the same size called Xiang (Soar) and Jing (Gentle) courtyards which are located in west and east, Feng Tao mentioned that Xi Hui, who they will start calling Madam instead of Third Madam, said that Xiuying can choose which one she like after visiting the two. The remaining courtyards will be for the guests as Qi Chen will mostly have visitors for their businesses.
The Huang, Xiang, Jing courtyards and the manor's main hall which is located in the center are all connected with covered pathways. Some of the servants where instructed to place the chests containing the dresses, jewelries and other stuff in the main courtyard so it'll be easy to move if there are changes.
Xiuying chose to live in Jing couryard as it has its own pavilion facing a man made pond with lotuses. Xue along with Xiao Hua and other maidservants named Xi, Yin and Cheng arrange their young miss' stuff while Xiuying is sitting in the pavilion admiring the newly bloomed lotus flowers.
Qi Ming's clothes and books were already moved to Xiang courtyard when Xue informed Feng Tao of Xiuying's decision.
Thinking that she haven't seen her parents after the scene in Qi's main hall yesterday she calls Xue. "Xue'er where's mother and father?"
"Young miss, Madam was called by Old General Xi while Master is meeting with store managers in his study." Xue calmly answered Xiuying.
"Xue'er can I help I'm so bored and big brother isn't here to keep me company...please?" Xiuying who is sitting suddenly look up at Xue with her pleading teary eyes.
Aiyo! Young miss don't look at me with those eyes! No! I shouldn't give in to her demands.... Xue inwardly controls her emotions, her young miss' ways of getting what she wants are really lethal.
"Young miss you can't. How about I bring you tea and some of the snacks we bought on the way here. Some are new introduced desserts of Drunken restaurant."
"Do you want to fatten me up like a pig?! Xue'er why do you not succumb to my pleading eyes! Look, they are even teary..." Xiuying points at her left eye before crossing her arms against her chest.
"Yes I am fattening you up like a pig...so stop your whining and just rest. Remember Physician Li said even though you have recovered we still need to prevent you from getting ill as it will take a year or two for your body to fully heal or do you want to drink those bitter medicines that you hate the most increased?" Xue's question immediately made Xiuying defeated, she always treat those medicine given by Physician Li as her mortal enemies if she can only lock the old man in his courtyard to never appear in front of her or burn all medicine he has, she'll do it.
In the poor old physician's new courtyard, Physician Li sneezes loudly three times even though there's no dust in his area. Ah that brat probably curses me right now.
All Xiuying's maidservants giggle seeing their young miss' reaction. "You traitors! You are all gonna be pigs! Your whole families are pigs!" Xiuying acting spoiled just makes the girls laugh out loud even the guards patrolling the area are trying to hold their laughter, the corner of their mouth are twitching.
In the tallest tree in Xiuying's courtyard two figures, wearing black robes the other is wearing a fox mask while the other man's face is covered with a black cloth only showing his forehead and eyes, are quietly observing the master and maidservants interactions. The fox masked man noticed her companion's eyes shows adoration as they watch the di daughter's actions. Suddenly a shadow guard appears behind him.
"Master everything is set as you ordered."
"En. Let's go." The fox masked man assent before the three disappears without a trace even the highest skilled in Qi Chen's shadow guards aren't aware of their visit.
