2020-09-08 14:22:48After eating most of the desserts Xiuying dab her lips with silk handkerchief and start observing her Qi Lian who is still immersed on eating her share.
This cousin of mine is also a foodie! She's so cute like a hamster while eating!
Qi Lian noticing her cousin's stare lightly coughs. "Yingjie, these desserts taste so good and they aren't greasy! Can I bring home some my mother likes to eat sweets too, please?"
"Of course! Xue can you tell the kitchen to pack around four pieces of each desserts?"
"Young miss I have prepared them earlier knowing how fifth young miss loves sweets, I already gave it to her maidservant."
"Thank you Xue'er you are really the best!" Xiuying smiles at Xue.
"Thank you Yingjie and Xue'er!" Qi Lian cheeks' blushed as she say her thanks to the two.
"You are welcome young misses." Xue bows while Xiuying pats Qi Lian's head.
After staying for a while in the tea house the two decided that it is time to go home. Xiuying's carriage stops not too far from the Qi clan's gate as she doesn't want to cause any commotion. Both promised that they will meet every three days and Xiuying ask Qi Lian to visit the tea house for food sampling since after three weeks it will be the opening day of Xiuying's tea house. Qi Lian happily agreed, her maidservant and Xue can only shake their heads the latter for discovering another foodie while the former worrying about her young miss getting fat.
The next day, the newly wed couple of Long Fu went to the main hall for tea ceremony and morning greetings to the elders. Along the way Qi Fan's cheeks flushed as her now husband Guanting holds her hand gently as he guides her to the main hall. She didn't notice that some servants are whispering to each other while looking at them, Guanting noticed their odd behavior but he just brushed it off as not important and smiles at his Fan'er.
Upon entering the main hall, he finally discovers the reason behind it. His parents and two of his uncles with their wives and children are present, his youngest sister Long Yue though present have a grim expression while his grandfather and the third branch's family aren't present. Seeing this, he remembers the words of his grandfather that he won't acknowledge Qi Fan as his granddaughter in law.
Qi Fan feels that there's something wrong upon not seeing the patriach of Long Fu and worriedly look at Guanting who smiled at her.
Noticing this, Long Jing coughs lightly to call the attention of the couple and smiles. "Your grandfather was called by His Majesty so he cannot receive your first morning greetings Fan'er."
"Come here dear let mother take a good look at you." Guanting's mother gestures new wife to come near her. Qi Fan walks gracefully in front of her in laws and smiles brightly.
"Oh my! This wife of Ting'er is indeed beautiful!" Guanting's second aunt exclaimed while his fourth aunt nodded happily. Their husbands and children just smile faintly and continue to drink their tea. Long Yue icily stares at her new sister in law but keep her silence.
After a week of preparation, Xiuying's tea house named Ying Yue Huayuan opens to the public. The tea house is located near the lake and surrounded by different flower plants and cherry blossom trees. Upon entering, the customers are greeted by a row of waiters who will guide the customers personally to their table or private room. The first floor have several tables in it also noticeable that there's a slightly elevated stage is located in the center, surrounded by almost transparent white curtains to block the audience view which can be removed if needed. The few parts of first floor walls can be converted as windows so the customers can admire the lake and flowers outside. In the second floor they can reserve private rooms in different sizes and themes while the whole third floor is known as the owner's room and no customers are allowed to enter unless invited. All rooms in second and third floors have large windows covered with removable screen where they can view then first floor's stage.
Xiuying and Qi Lian observes the bustling customers and servants from the third floor together with Xue and Qi Lian's maidservant Ling.
"Yingjie congratulations! While your tea house is prospering please don't forget to still give this young miss free samples when you create new desserts!" Qi Lian jokingly state earning chuckles from their maidservants and a flick on her forehead from Xiuying.
"Aiyo! Yingjie, I'm just saying the truth!"
"You chipmunk! Of course your comments on my desserts really helps but please don't be such a glutton otherwise you will get fat!" Xiuying laughs at her cousin's pouting.
"I won't get fat didn't I tell you mother and I started the morning exercise you taught me three days ago since father and even brother started to comment on our weights."
"That's good to hear I don't want third uncle and fourth cousin barging in here to complain." Hearing that from Xiuying, Qi Lian laughs awkwardly as it may really happen.
Xue heard few light knocks on the room's door and upon opening it she sees the manager of the tea house. "Young miss, Master Qi Ming invites you to join him in his private room." Manager Ba politely said and looks at his young miss. He can't still help but be amaze how a young girl like the owner can be so skilled in managing stores and creating new delicacies, he is thankful to Qi Chen for introducing his only daughter.
Xiuying gets up and instructed Xue to take care of Qi Lian. She called Xiao Hua who was busy giving Xiuying's instructions to the head waiter to join her to her brother's private room.
The manager guided them to one of the secluded private rooms of the tea house. Xiuying had it setup as she knows that prominent families like to have some of their meetings be treated with secrecy.
